I was hoping you would follow the leader you so proudly showed on your T-shirt and play us a tune at the end... 🎶💩
ОтветитьAlways make sure you have a decent crimper tool, i ordered one off amazon and was only getting 100mbps on cat 6 ordered the correct tool like you have and now works perfectly for 1gbs. Thanks for the video.
ОтветитьSo you don't have to strip these 8 wires before pushing them into the female end? It cuts into them or something when you push them in?
I had cat5 run throughout my house during a rebuild and I don't know shit about it, except one cable seemed to not be working. I would test it through my ps5 and it got like 1mb download and 10mb upload (I have a 1gig plan). So I looked at the female end coming out of the wall there and it looks like the orange/white wire was nearly pulled out. It was wrapped up and nearly pulled out from one of the other wires, so I use pulled it out with a small flat head screwdriver, unwrapped it from the other wire it tangled with, and shoved it back in with the tiny flat head screw driver. I didn't strip it, but I assume it strip itself when I push it in. It seemed to work better after, I was pulled down about 100mb and 10mb up. Should be 600mb+ up, so I don't know if there's still other problems or not. My question is, could the low result be because other wires aren't fully in either in that female connector? Because it still technically worked without that orange/white, but only 1mb, then with it, it jumped to 100mb. But maybe with redoing another one it would jump up again? It's just weird that it's not an all or nothing scenario. I figured if one of the 8 wires were out, you'd get nothing as if it was a severed wire, but it still operated with 7 of 8 connected. But I don't know, maybe only 5 or 6 of them are connected properly. I guess maybe I need one of those tools or see if the electrician will come warranty their work.
Amazing work
ОтветитьI got in trouble for calling male and female connections. Now we call them gender neutral connections 😮
ОтветитьAll those wonderful toys.
ОтветитьIf you use a connector with LSA plus rails you can also use a cable with stranded wire. Lsa plus has pins that are at a 45 degree angle
ОтветитьExcellent
ОтветитьI find that if you add the step of splitting the sleeve of the plenum cable about a half inch more, you can cut the divider/stiffener lower. This aids in getting the sleeve in the male ethernet connector.
ОтветитьNice crimping
Ответитьsure would have been nice to have been told the TAB faces down when inserting the wires, now i have to redo a dozen cables.
ОтветитьNice! Good video, and I like that cable tester you have, especially with the app.
Ответитьsorry, cable termination is not "IT" it is shIT
ОтветитьYou're a terminator too.
ОтветитьYou know, if you just use any pen, you can do the same thing to straighten out the wires very easily!!! No special tool needed. The outer case of the cable should also go into the RJ-45 plug more lilke 1/4" more. Where it gets clamped down. Not just barely into the plus. That is just wrong.
ОтветитьOn the keystone jacks it appears that different manufacturers put the wire colors in different locations on the block. Can I assume that they are wired internally to still match up with the plug ?
ОтветитьShoot it, stab it or set it on fire! That should end it!
ОтветитьThanks for this
ОтветитьVery good work and explaination❤
ОтветитьGracias 🙏 hermano
ОтветитьVery helpful, thanks!
ОтветитьOn the keystone. Don't unwind the pairs completely. Strip the jacket back further at least 3" ( I usually work with about 4" to 6") can be as long a you like, then just un-twist about the 1st 1.5 inches from the jacket so the ends are still twisted. Then place the jacket all the way up to the back of the keystone and start slipping the closest pairs in 1st. This way the jacket is as close to the keystone jack as possible and no bare wires are showing. This will really help if you are punching on a panel especially if it's already mounted and you are adding more wires. On the mod ends I try to work the wires at the jacket after untwistng and I push the wires in a little further so the crimp catches the jacket amd no bare wires are showing.
ОтветитьCan both ends of the interior ethernet cable terminate at a wall socket? So a cable from modem to socket, a cable through the walls from socket to socket, and then a final cable from socket to device.
ОтветитьYou didn't say and it's hard to see if when you put the plug/connector on if the clip is up or down. It looks like it's down but... (yea, I know it basically doesn't matter as long as both ends are the same, but...
ОтветитьShove it in all the way, not just the tip... Just how I remember to do it lol
Ответить$23 for a tool to separate the easiest thing in the world, clearly you aren't as smart or you would have used the little jacket piece you cut off with the wire stripper LOL.. Why did you cut the wires? they're going through a pass through connector anyway LMAO? it gets cut with the crimp tool and straightens them out lol
Ответить"Cable" refers to the entire 4 pairs and sheath. You push the wires, not cables through the plug.
You didn't push the cable far enough in. When you crimp the connector, the sheath should under the plastic tab for physical stability.
The untwisted portion of the wire must be less than ½".
When I connect to a keystone jack, I place the end of the sheath in the middle of the connector and then fan out to the appropriate pins. I do not untwist the wires, as the separator between the blades will untwist the wires enough.
You can also get other connectors, such as type F for cable TV, speaker connections and more, that fit into keystone holes.
Use appropriate connectors for CAT5 & CAT6. They're different.
BTW, it's a bad idea to use plugs with solid wire. Patch cords should be made with stranded cable and structured wiring with solid.
THANKS DAD!
ОтветитьQuick tip i always use the jacket to unstrip the pairs 👍
ОтветитьOne thing that was obvious from watching, but you failed to mention is that in that diagram, it is intended for the end to have the clip DOWN, not up. If you do it with it up, you'll get them in the wrong positions.
ОтветитьHello. Cat6 I can do ok. Cat6a I have problems with. The load bar for me I have trouble loading. The pairs do not seem to stay in their slot. It's also a little awkward that the wires that should be colored/white are actually just white. Any tips to deal with these issues?
ОтветитьCan I use a CAT6A RJ and CAT6A Keystone on a CAT6 cable or do I need to match the RJ45 and Keystone to the cable being either Cat6A or just CAT6? Or am I overthinking this and either way will work. I would like to just get a bunch of CAT6A connectors instead of having to have two sets of connectors?
ОтветитьThank you for the excellent video
Ответитьbrilliant
Ответитьthank you a lot dear
Ответитьhi how can know the arrangement of wires according to their colours
ОтветитьYou need to know how to terminate without a pass through crimping tool when In the field. You will not always have the same brand to brand tools/ends.
ОтветитьI'm still trying to figure out why with 2 keystones i lose my gig signal but with one and a rj45 i don't
ОтветитьYou know...if you grab the base of the exposed wire with your thumb and index finger, you can pull straight up and untwist the wire or, if you're concerned about unintentionally pulling the wire out of the sleeve, you can hold the sleeve with a pair of vice grips. I lost track of the rest of the video once I saw you explaining that you spent money on a tool to do, slower, what your hand or a small nail could do.
ОтветитьYou can also use the indentations of your wire snips to hold the wire down with your finger to smooth and straighten the wires.
Ответитьthank you mr
ОтветитьI push the jacket into the connector reducing loss of twist in the pairs. Its needed for cat 6
ОтветитьThis is good we can do it noted
Ответитьyour cable conector on going
Ответитьimpressive am really interested with your teaching, i got got what i want thanks
