Bro, this video is weird, it's clear that the person that made this put a lot into this and even did the research, but i have read so much manga and there were a lot of mangakas where i told to myself "this person has better pannels" one of those is kentaro miura, i can name at least ten panels that are way better than the one of the videos, Shinichi sakamoto, all of his panels could make be a cover page, and that's me only naming 2 artists. Also I must admit, i dont read comics at all, the only comics I've read are Allan Moure work, and he's not even here, so i can't make a comment about that part. But anyway, this video was so good and enjoyable :) it made me feel like reading a lot of mangas again just to see again the drawings :') thanks for all this work ^^

both artists are incredible. i find that when i read manga i fly through it and don't think twice about it. when im reading comics it can feel labor intensive. i love comics but a majority don't make sense to me. its hilarious that manga that i dont even read in its original source language is far more accessible to me than western comics. is this just an opinion? I find comics hard to focus on and half the time they're just cracking jokes/tropes to fit the formula of comics that came before. if you compare something like slam dunk to a comic book theres just 0 competition. it absolutely blows it away. it upsets me so much because I absolutely love comic books! Unfortunately I'm pretty sure this all boils down to the writing and pacing. once again im a massive fan of comics and i buy epic collections like a psychopath. it just gets annoying because modern american comics have a LOT of catching up to do to remotely compete with manga. does anyone else agree with this?

Comics has some pretty good entries too, I almost forgot with their bad recent releases. But yes, Mangaka has more life in their black and white pages.

Interestingly enough after watching this I'm seeing more similarities rather than differences. But what exactly made manga and comic different? It's like there's a subtle fundamental difference that made them distinct.

To begin with, Japan has a complex historical background and heterogeneous traditions that lend themselves to manga.
Even the history of national isolation is concentrated in manga as a result of the pursuit of external self-satisfaction.
What America needs is a mind that faces its history, deepens its self-understanding, and discerns its true nature.
There is no need to make a comic book just for super powers and character design; it can be made into a movie in Hollywood.
Manga is the history of its creator, the ultimate escape from reality, a way to chew up and express an idea that no one else understands.

There are wonderful western comic artists, and they have usually inspired each other, but many mangakas have perfected the art of conveying movement and emotion.

You forgot two greatest comic book writer and mangaka, Alan Moore and Kazuo Koike, Alan Moore's graphic novel considered very highly his Watchmen comic book is one of the greatest ever, and Kazuko Koike's Lone wolf and cub is also one of the highly regarded manga

This is definitely a matter of preference. I like both.

I came in expecting it to be just denigrating comic artists. Happy to see its just comparing sets of similar artists.

I noticed how on the comic side there was more of the artist own rendition of the same characthers over and over again but in the manga it was mostly og characters, whit a few exceptions.

the OG characters of many West heroes don't have much of a character, those were added overtime to meet up with what is "in & hip" atm .., while anime characters

All those comic artist they been drawing the same character whatever be a DC characters or marvel characters! So different when it come to Japanese mangaka that they created their OWN CHARACTER OWN STORY AND BE THE REAL LEGEND TO EVER EXIST
