This is pretty interesting, I've always loved Tenkaichi 3 but I never even thought of if it has a competitive scene. Part of why I like it so much is because of how simple and accessible it feels as a fighting game, it's easy to just hop into a match with friends and not feel like there's too big of a skill gap.

I am guessing the usual tourney format is no custom (potara) characters allowed?

This game is moddable, right? Hopefully that means someday it will be more balanced. I love everything else I'm seeing but can't stay interested in a game where only a handful of characters are viable

Can't wait to see Sparking Zero. Budokai 1 - Tenkaichi 3 we're my childhood. But I haven't played in years. Just ordered a ps2 and Tenkaichi 3. Hopefully, I can prepare myself before Sparking Zero. Imma be rusty as hell. 😅 (Also got a copy of budokai 1, surprisingly no scratches after all this time.)

I would love to watch a tier list video on this game explaining why certain characters are considered good.

i was a noob, but i could beat great apes with videl... a girl with 2 bars, lot of moves who wont work on giants and can't move without charge punches. still stronger.

Next time, just make it so EVERYONE has to choose only RANDOM. That way it is more fair & does test more skill than just "learn the broken characters, how to cheese them & have no talent to the rest of the game" matches.

the game for the sweatiest 12 year olds ever lol, those ps2 controllers were truly nokia quality to survive the peak of competitive dragon ball titles. like shit i have one with me right now and it still works, could probably bash someone's head in with this thing if i wanted and still keep playing

My friends and I used to play this game so much and it was so fun making broken custom characters and then trying to beat each other. I wasnt great but my brother had a like unbeatable custom Tien and after so long my friend finally beat him with a custom Great Ape Baby. It was so glorious.

if the tier list is "too set in stone" banning characters/drafting 1-2-1-1-1 could be an option to bring more variety

Where is the competitive scene, I want to play!

The AGC discord invite is broken. :( It's a shame, because I stumbled across this video specifically because I want to learn more about the BT3 competitive scene, and having a community full of guides would be such a huge boon. Is there any chance we could get an updated link? Is the server still around? If not, have the info and the guides been backed up someplace?

Gogeta and cell are great characters to play as, but I prefer piccolo and future trunks afted the time chamber ss1 form

from the days when i played this as a kid all i remember is that gogeta was really broken because he could teleport in between attacks around his opponent and the blue guy from the ginyu force had insane combos

Gogeta 4 is the strongest character especially if you fuse to make him he’s dam near unbeatable unless you get vegeto

This game introduced the most broken mechanic in any fighting game, the Z counter, if you mastered you were literally untouchable, those who unlocked red potara gogeta ssj4 know what I’m talking about
