The Snake is an amazing animal! They are not slimey or furocious or pets. If we choose to be - we are their stewards. Having had and bread large snakes, I have been bitten. Each and every time a snake bit me, it was my fault. I either startled it, handled it too roughly, didn't see the signs of aggression or had food smell on my hands. If a person is bitten by a snake - IT IS THE HUMAN'S FAULT! Even in the wild where they live. Don't want to get bitten, killed or eaten? Don't touch them! Never look at them closely in the face. They aren't kissing you, they are tasting you -

The copperhead that bit the guy who didn’t see it along the path while walking in a national park in Maryland…. It was a dry bite. It didn’t release any venom. I’ve watched the original video. I live just a few miles from the park he was in.
