can you create point cloud?
ОтветитьThe only bad thing about the video is the 7 segment display wasn't clear, it's illumination is too weak
I wish you used a serial monitor or put the display in a shadowy place.
Your knowledge and manner is great! Thanks👍
ОтветитьSir Which cover glass is used and where can i get it.
ОтветитьI hope you can show us how you can build LiDARs from scratch using discrete components, with today's advanced high speed micro controllers I think it can be done for low cost which implements proper LIDAR timings. The only reason I can not use the IC LIDARs is because they can not be implemented properly for 360 3D mapping which usually requires an array of Lasers.
ОтветитьNice!
Ответитьme fue de mucha ayuda, gracias por su valioso aporte
ОтветитьWhat is the name of that turning connection you have shown - how is it advertised in places like AliExpress?
ОтветитьIs it possible to use VL53L0x without X-NUCLEO-53L0A1 extension borad, directly connecting to my F302R8 board via I2C interface? HAL functions(HAL_I2C_Master_Transmit or HAL_I2C_Mem_Write) don't work since no register map presented of VL53L0x by ST. All i found is device address as 0x52.
ОтветитьIs it eyes safe?
ОтветитьHi, I have to design a probe, which will move inside a pipe. The probe should be capable of self localisation inside the pipe. I am thinking to use TOF sensor V53L0X from ST microelectronics. Could you please guide me
ОтветитьAndreas, have you taken a look at the VL53L3CX, multiple target and 300cm range?
ОтветитьDoes this sensor has the ability to measure water level?
ОтветитьGreetings! Does the light beam still reflects back to the sensor if it hits a curve object? Thank you.
ОтветитьCan you make accuracy test using standalone flat surface?
ОтветитьDoes it read integers only? Floating numbers, right?
ОтветитьThank you for thre great and interesting video! If I may add one mark @ ultrasonic distance measurement: in gases the the speed of sound does NOT depend on the pressure, but on the temperature (and the kind of gas (-mixture) of course): cs=sqrt(kappa*Rspec*T); the temperature is a meter for the speed the atoms/molecules move and thus can carry a pressure wave foreward (higher temperature --> faster atoms). whereas increasing pressure "just" increases the frequency of bounces as the free length of way is shorter.
ОтветитьHallo Andreas, wie / wann geht es weiter mit dem LIDAR Sensor?Gibt es eine Doku zu deinem Self-balancing Robot? Kann man den irgendwo in Aktion sehen?Liebe Grüße,Chris
ОтветитьGrüetzi ;-) very good video, thx
ОтветитьThank you so much, do you think it is usefull for automatic landing drone?
ОтветитьWhatever happened to this project ???
ОтветитьWell, we are waiting excited for the conclusion, will it work with the robot? An idea: if you put your sensor on a fastly rotating stand, maybe 5-10 rotations per second (or even more), and then with a rotary encoder fill an array or struct with angle and distance, wouldnt that compensate for the slow measurements? (its not fast enough to measure every degree, but after a couple of laps we will have by chance filled most of the angles in one degree resolution.)
ОтветитьCan this be used in outside conditions and if not what is the best and cheapest sensor instead of sonar sensor??
Ответить!!! Cool!
ОтветитьI think it would be good to use more than 1 sensor to tackle the slowness of the sensor. If we use like, 8 sensors at the same time at the same assembly we could get 8 points in 8 directions every 20ms.
Ответитьis there any way to extend beyond the 2 meters range?
ОтветитьThe sensor must take a lot of time to figure out its output. Great video as always. So glad I found your channel. Those ST micros are awesome too bad they don't have the library support like arduino does.
ОтветитьAndreas, you should look at the Microsoft Kinect v2. There is also an ToF depth camera inside, but with an 512 x 424 pixel resolution.
ОтветитьCan i use it to measure water level ? .............Does laser reflect from water surface or it penetrates it?
Ответитьcan we use lora to find time-of-flight?
ОтветитьDo you plan to make a follow up video with this hardware?
ОтветитьWhat does that turn plate calls?
Ответитьcan you build a 2D depth mapping device with it ?
probably standalone with a tft display ???
1 millisecond = 0.001 seconds, so 6 milliseconds = 0.006. So to wait 0.006 seconds is a very short amount of time.
ОтветитьI love the idea of calling EM spectrum outside the visible band "invisible light"
ОтветитьVery nice, please share your results. Subscribed !

ОтветитьThis sensor could be great for collision avoidance of quad copters, though you would need 6 of them. I found 5pcs for 35$ so that is a reasonable cost. I wonder how hard it would be to get it to work with standard flight controllers like the naze32/baseflight
ОтветитьHi Andreas, I cannot like this video until your robot overtakes my car on a highway. A real german one, not a wimpi swiss one ;-))
Ответитьjust a tip on servos: do you know there is a simple hack to permit servo to spin with different velocity avoiding the 180° limitation?
ОтветитьI would guess that ST may achieve this remarkable feat by sending repeated pulses and using digital filtering to improve the signal to noise (hence the timing which as you note is far slower than detecting a single round trip pulse would be).
I look forward to seeing how you manage the mechanical aspects of making use of the capsule slip ring; it does seem simple to combine a motor drive with the slip ring (which doesn't appear to have bearings to support load or reduce wear).
I have replaced my ultrasonic sensors with the polulu breakout with the ST VL53L0X and the VL6180X I love them
Ответитьfunny I just received mine last week, but had not time to test it yet :-)
if you find it too slow then do the same as for you did with you 3 ultrasound sensors, buy mutiple lazer sensors, let say 4, put them on one stepper motor so you'll get a 360° scan in only 90° rotation timing so you can let the motor turn slower but get a full scan.
Sorry, I'm a bit off topic but I'm particulary interested in this turning part with many cables... what's the name for this ?
ОтветитьSo it only has 1m of range? What would you recommend for a longer range?
