I did a similar thing with my Atari 1040 ST monitor so i can use it on my PC.
Ответитьyou could have used a diode
ОтветитьI thought you'd have added a diode
ОтветитьExcelente trabajo.
Ответитьcouldn't you just of used a single diode instead of rewireing the switch ?
ОтветитьThis channel is the reason im sane
ОтветитьI have an ntsc TV in Asia
ОтветитьCool
Ответитьyour comment on doing things differently - what would you change?
ОтветитьHola amigo muchas gracias por la información tendrás el modelo del interruptor para conseguirlo gracias
ОтветитьAdd HDMI
ОтветитьHey! I’ve just RGB modded my old CRT TV and wanted to display VGA signals on it, but I’m not sure how to set the computer to operate at NTSC frequencies. How do I go about doing this? Do you have a tutorial? Thanks a bunch!!
ОтветитьWhat settings would need to changed if this was to be performed on a modern Windows Machine that still has VGA outputs?
Or will it just flat out not work?
or just use a diode
ОтветитьSize does matter, BITCH
ОтветитьThanks man. I was searching for a vga to rca mod on internet but the información never shows clear.

ОтветитьThat was the biggest complaint I had about the CoCo 3. It had an absolute crappy composite output. Even on the Commodore 1702, which is a good composite monitor, it was just passable. I remember that this was pointed out on several reviews in the 'The Rainbow' at the time.
ОтветитьRemoving the glue for the female connector, but had to extend the cable It is like to swap a cat for a hare.
Ответитьim am from eu so i never had this problem.. haha
ОтветитьEngagement!
Ответить逐行扫描电视机 效果很棒!
ОтветитьWhere we can get those DOS TSRs?
Ответитьi was thinking of just using a diode
ОтветитьDoes anybody know where can I find the 'ntscneg' program that he used to make DOS output 15 Khz?
ОтветитьCan someone help me? How do I wire up the apple db15 to vga? I have ordered the breakout board, like the one David has, but does anyone have a clear pinout to vga?
ОтветитьI just realized this video answers why we never got the VGA output fully working after finding instructions and creating the cable some 15 years ago. It was the refresh rate, which we didn't even know to suspect being different between monitors and TVs. We thought it was due to a short in the circuit board or something to that effect, and just ended up abandoning the project.
ОтветитьOld tv wit HDMI
ОтветитьI remember I connected a wii into a interlaced tv and it worked fine but when I ran need for speed carbon, it was in grayscale. It was very weird because every other game ran in color. When I ran the game on a progressive screen the colors worked. Anyone know why?
ОтветитьComo conecto mi crt a una rasperry?? Ayuda
Ответитьwould that VGA adapter cable work on a modern computer? you can convert HDMI or DVI to VGA, after all
ОтветитьWhere to get the ntscneg program?
ОтветитьWell....where do I start? For any analogue signal use shielded wires, not ribbon cable. You had this cable with 4 RCAs on each end - a piece of that would have been perfect. The RGB signals from the controller: originally it was 2 resistors between the chip and the ground. The best place to connect the resistor for te external signal would have been where the 2 original resistors are attached to eachother. But don't solder the resistor there, put it at the external connector end. Also, of each signal (RGB) connect just the internal lead, not the shieding at the chip end to avoid ground loops. The sync signal: also use an inline resistor in the external signal, because you never know what kind of signal the external source will put on it. The blanking signal: a diode or resistor would probably also work. In fact, there was a resistor, so the wire from the switch you probably could have just soldered on the other end. Finally, to avoid cumbersome conections and multiple holes in the TV back - i would have used a standard 15-pin VGA connector (so you can plug in a standard vga cable) and in the back side of the connector a little pcb to mount the resistors and a possibility to attach the RBG + sync coaxes properly. For each different system (not VGA) it would then be enough to have a modified VGA cable for each of those systems (cut in half, solder the appropriate connector(s) for that system). But hey, that it just how I would do it. This may seem like critisism, but it is not - it is nice to see you tweaking old systems, and the suggestions may be a reason for part III.
ОтветитьOne observation, you should NEVER, NEVER use an open flame to shrink heat shrink tubing, ALWAYS use a heat gun, Much safer.
Ответитьthat is a Great mod :-) With what won't display correctly is it due to the lack of function from the Jungle chip ?
ОтветитьThis video is amazing a sequel to my 1st 8-bit guy video?Yes please! How haven't I seen this yet?!?!
ОтветитьThis is very interesting... not the rgb mode but making vga run in composite, so this could be used to display a computer signal on a crt tv that you want to smash live on video... much better than static
ОтветитьThe VGA in 15khz has CGA text
ОтветитьIt have resistor, so it no need
ОтветитьCouldn’t you just use a diode ?
Ответитьwhy go either OSD or RGB on a switch? why not use a diode to prevent the current flow the wrong way?
ОтветитьYou can try to add 3 variable resistors to sync line - H, V, combined and... get properly working VGA!
ОтветитьI'm going to attempt an input mod a TV from the 80s - which I don't recommend to anyone cuz they're live chassis and you can get shocked and killed, but I'm going to add an isolation transformer between the power cord and the rest of the chassis to separate the mains from the rest of it and hopefully not have any hot grounds. IDK if I'll be able to do an RGB mods but I ought to be able to add S-video - an improvement from twin lead antenna input
Ответитьwhai not HDMI
Ответитьcould somebody help me to find the blanking pin on a LG 14FK3RB-L2? it has a onechip, LG046N9R59H3, I just need a litle clue, i'm not an electronic guy. Thanks in advance
ОтветитьWhat about to install a VGA socket as well into the TV? That way you doesn't need to make your own cable. 😉
Ответитьhow can i use component without the yellow connector because i have the PS2 component display connector
