im not a trader (yet) but i am a poker player. This logic is just as true at the poker table. You sit down to a low atakes game, maybe $1/$2 blinds with $200. An hour goes by and you cant lose and now you're up to $500. Most guys will stay way longer at the table then they should and end up leaving with $100 if that. "Take the money off the table."

Don’t base your goals off money, do it off%. If you’re starting out don’t risk more than 1% targeting maybe 2-4%. Once you have the skill the money will come. If you’re staring at your wins and gloating them, I guarantee you losses will hurt you. Having and showing emotions is different. At the start it’s almost impossible to not have emotions, we are people chasing something greater and we want it asap. Do not show your emotions and this will improve your ability to not have them at all internally or very minimal. The key to trading once you have the technicals down is understanding yourself. Knowing when you’re in the right headspace to trade and knowing when you are not. Above that is, knowing when market conditions are good and when they are bad. The markets are designed algorithmically to create these turbulent trading days to spark your emotions. Avoiding these days and waiting for A+ setups. A massive amount of people would be more profitable right now if they only had the discipline to recognize good market conditions and ONLY taking A+ setups. Good luck, give it time. Confidence comes from your skill set💪

I can relate , I started trading 1 week ago and started with 10$ made more 10 that day my luck was good next day I lost 10 then started analyzing and made 70 in 3 days no cap , but yesterday I made a trade and forget to add stop loss and my account is gone 😢 it's sad but now I think I can make the money again

Price targets or profit targets messes up your psychology in general. Setting a set limit that you will risk per trade is the only dollar amount “goal” you should set per trade
