ОтветитьWhy not talk about cavalry , its still formidable part of army especially during late Empire .
ОтветитьRome did not fall in the 4th century, it was merely divided.
ОтветитьThe Rome Total War music chilled me to the bone... fcking nostalgy

Where's the Byzantine Era
ОтветитьIt's strange how two of the most iconic elements of the Roman legionnaire are in reality inaccurate. Lorica segmentata, although certainly present, was never prevalent, much more common was lorica hamata (the chain mail one), which would serve much better as the most common depiction of the imperial Roman soldier. The Roman salute was also not a thing at all, it just came as a wrong idea from the pose of certain statues of various emperors, but there are actually no reliable sources to indicate it was a real custom
ОтветитьI am highly disappointed that this video didn't continue into the Byzantine era.
ОтветитьI love the overview the vid gives, but please stop calling it the prinkipahtay. It kept throwing me off. The term is an anglicism and should be read as such (as in "prinsipait"); the original Latin word for it would be "principatus". If ever you need a quick input regarding Latin or Ancient Greek pronunciation, hit me up.
ОтветитьVery bad resume
ОтветитьThe ecclesiastical pronunciations are killing me
ОтветитьFrom a backwater town ruled by their Etruscan overlords to the paragon of Weser civilization and to cradle of the western world this is the story of Rome

ОтветитьDo you pronounce everything wrong or am I?
ОтветитьHaga el de México por favor
ОтветитьWhat about evolution of the medieval Roman soldier (a.k.a. Byzantine or East Roman soldier) throughout the centuries?
ОтветитьAt the very end of this video the narrator states that Rome fell in the fourth century. In reality, Rome lasted until 476 in the late 5th century. And was revived by the eastern Roman emperor Justinian in the 6th century.
ОтветитьDidnt the western part of Rome fall in the 5th century? I mean around 411 AD the city was sacked and never really recovered
ОтветитьI was also an adventurer, jumping out of C130s and getting into gunfights in Bactria for Consul Barrackus Obamus, under Legio 82 Airbornum. And I too got arthritis.
ОтветитьI remember installing the EB mod to Rome Total War (for historical accuracy) and finding that the earlier Roman legions were not what I expected. Play in the "early" age and it feels a lot like a Greek army!
Ответить❤
Ответитьyou didnt mention when the pilum became a regular spear!
ОтветитьAve, true to Caesar!
ОтветитьLegenda em português br por favor
ОтветитьCan you please send a copy of your video to ALL film makers in the USA...
Ridley Scott too, when I saw how he falsified, distorted and lied about our Emperor Napoleon, I almost threw up....
