[OLD] Crash Twinsanity - Caddicarus

Can you believe I released this video bang on the date of my birthday? Happy 25th to me! Thanks to all of you for the kind wishes on Twitter and elsewhere!

This game was rushed during development. This would explain why you can replay certain areas of the game as well as the Aku Aku masks not working like they do in the previous Crash Bandicoot games.

The entire soundtrack for this game uses no instruments other than human voices, provided by A Cappella group, Spiralmouth.

The Evil Twins were based on the Lead Concept Artist's girlfriend's two hateful cockatoos.

Before Crash Bandicoot 4 was made, Twinsanity was considered by many to be the last good game in the Crash Bandicoot series, not counting the 2017 remake of the original PS1 Trilogy.

On my NTSC Xbox copy, the first Nina Cortex cutscene suffers lag issues as well. I played my copy of the game on an original Xbox (original hardware) and it runs faster on that console, including the cutscene I mentioned.

The best way to play the game is with the ps2 emulator, performance is perfect and you can run it on a crisp 4k or higher

Am I the only one who feels like twinsanity was weirdly.. fetishy? Like it's got this stink to it and feels like it leaned into crash x cortex jokes too much. I love it don't get me wrong (disappointed we never got more w Tikimon or his concept) but there's just such a weird air around the game to me.

It’s a shame how rushed Twinsanity was. There was so much stuff cut, and even sort of finished before the game’s deadline. It also explains the weird jank and narrative inconsistencies.

I would love if we got a remake that was essentially everything this game was going to be.


Edit: Also the daughter/niece joke is actually an inside joke by the devs. None of them could decide on whether Nina was either Cortex’s daughter or was her niece.

Just recently picked up this game the other day and was pleasantly surprised. I really like this game, I was like "whoa this is good?" Lol then I got stuck at the walrus chef 😂
I haven't had any frame drip or major glitches on my end so far. Maybe it has something to do with the Xbox version?

I don’t hate the joke. But if you get mr T himself to play crunch then I would love it. But if not….I don’t find it funny.

Twinsanity is probably the closest thing that we'll get to a spiritual successor to Conker's Bad Fur day. It's not M rated, but this game has a lot in common with Conker. They are both narrative driven platformers in pseudo open world environments. They both have a lot of adult, self referential jokes. They both have a lot of different gameplay styles. And they both had troubled productions with a lot of cut content.

I was playing the PlayStation 2 version, and I had a glitch during the first are riding cortex section where I fell down a hole but for some reason I was still alive and I couldn’t die so what I have to do is reset the whole entire consul

Somehow "the foul brothers" sound more clever. Since the twins are bird-like, the word foul could have a double meaning, the fact that they are bad (foul) and the fact they look like birds (fowl.)

If Coco wasn't paralysed the whole game, they could have got her to break Nina out and have them a team up stage. I would have liked that since they could of had some fun banter since they can both speak.
