How To Fix Crackling/Static Issue with Discord Audio

If you are experiencing audio cracking on Discord, I discovered that the issue was a misconfiguration in the Hz settings of the Voicemeeter cable. My microphone operates at 48,000 Hz, 16-bit, while Voicemeeter was set to 44,000 Hz, 24-bit. By simply adjusting the Voicemeeter output to match my microphone's specifications (16-bit, 48,000 Hz), the problem was easily resolved.

Changing to legacy ultimately fixed my issue. I have an XLR microphone, maybe that has something to do with it? (No other devices to record audio, or to discourse via has had the crackling issue)

This worked, thank you. I'd been losing my mind trying to fix it after I set up my new mic and it'd be clear in OBS but in discord it just crackled and kept oscillating and cutting my voice out.

something is up with my mic and this video didnt help, when I am on discord my friends cant hear me and I cant see the green thing, as soon as I go to voice settings and click test voice its like a quick static and it goes off, is there a way to fix that?

I've had this problem many times it just randomly occurs.
Probably when I do a windows update.
Somehow this video saves me every time so I'm finally going to like and save this video for the future when I forget again xD

Solution for Focusrite-users!

I had Sample-rate maxed out (1024). Changed it to anything below 192 and its gone! :D

(Windows menu down to the right, Focusrite icon, settings -> change samplerate)

So, the edits to the sound file work but its annoying i have to change it again every time i start up my pc, there a way to change it permanently?

Ive been searching the internet constantly trying to figure out how to stop my discord from randomly sounding distorted or cut out with no luck, FINALLY I found something that worked, imagine it had to be raising the priority for its sound processing, thank you so much.

None of this is my issue. The servers say 128kbps but I doubt that is even close. I am in the northeast and even if I select EAST Servers for the VC it still has horrible encoding. This is ALL on Discords side.

The affinity change saved me so much trouble. I can't be grateful enough for this. It was so frustrating to have a mic and audio interface that sounds as clean as possible in your own headphones' monitoring to sound like absolute garbage when talking on discord. You've earned a fat subscribe man!

Thanks so much disabled all the voice processing in Discord and now all is good - I'm using Light Host/Voice Meeter to send my mic audio through VST plugins before sending it to any app (Zoom, Teams, OBS, Discord) and discord Voice Processing was messing it up bad
