I am switching from a standard to this pro (even the white). but I have noticed the buttons are different than your's as mine has small round buttons instead of the oval style. oh well. but my old version I have only 1 key on one side, and the bottle opener and nano knife, so the key has like, 9 spacers on them. it doesn't affect anything at all so yes, do use the spacers generously, when in doubt, use more. reason for me getting this is I am adding the covert lockpick set to it and the multi tool and make the keys a full-on utility device.
