How to Create Bootable Windows 11 Installer USB on Mac

For some fellow M1, M2 users!

1. From UTM VM option, set cores to 8.
2. From UTM VM option, set force multithread to true. This may result a bit of wanky result, but it will be far faster than just doing raw with 2 cpu like some comments suggested.
3. You will see blue screen if you use SPICE. The driver is not signed, so you need to press F8, then select the option to disable driver signature. Then will boot... :)

Basically I get to the downloading windows 11 point and then after around 2 hours of it downloading it says error not compatible and I have to restart I just don’t understand why it gives me the option to click on usb drive and download it for 2 hours and then decide it’s not compatible

Didn't work for me. When the Windows installation finished I got a "recovery" screen. Don't know what's wrong.

I get to the point where the next part is to boot it all up after finishing downloading it and I get the notification that my pc/M1 is in recovery and can’t run windows 11 what do I do …

Thanks for this helpful video. Saved me a lot of time. In order for the virtualized Windows 11 to properly boot in UTM, I additionally had to disable the "TPM 2.0 device" option under Settings - Quemu. Cheers

For any M1 users having problems, make sure to select 2 cores in the configuration menu

Got all the way to the end and it says pc needs to be repaired or something like that on a blue screen, what did I do wrong?

Wanted to say a HUGE thank you for this video! So clear and simple guide - successfully created a bootable usb that I will use tomorrow for my new built pc :) it was time consuming because of all the updates I had to install but definitely worth the wait.

Ended up not getting it working on my MBP Intel i7 via Virtualize and Default / 2 vCPU. I also enabled vTPM 2.0 with no luck. Ended up using Virtual Box and got it to work. Just an FYI for everyone, you will need to use 'regedit' before Windows OS install process starts when the Install Window first pops up. When Regedit comes up, you will need to create three registry entries for Windows not to check for TPM, SecureBoot and RAM check. It was only after that was i able to successfully install windows.

Thank you for the detailed video. After selecting windowsI received an error though. After selecting windows 11 home as the operating message and clicking next, the error says "this PC can't run windows 11. This PC doesn't meet the minimum requirements to install this version of windows....

I'm using an M1 Mac. When I set up the virtual Windows instance it asks me to select a Windows version, in the video you selected windows pro. Regardless of what I select, I get an error saying "This PC can't run Windows 11"

Hello everything was going so good until In mid of the fist install on the screen appear that my PC does no mee the minimum system requirements to install this version of windows

it sure did help in some way for me i was able to reformat the ssd and look into a recovery folder for my tablet pc.

can someone help I got to the part just after it installs windows and stuff then when it shows the utm logo it just sits on getting ready and a loading circle at the bottom... its been like this for hours.

doesn't work on m1/m2 macs I have two m1 and m2 macs because of the vm you run it on windows will say your system doesn't meet the minimum requirements. Instead I'd recommend booting onto windows 10 for creating the bootable usb instead of 11 and I didn't have any issues.

Thank you!! Even Microsoft did not offer a good instructions about this... they should be on top of this to switch Mac users to Windows.
