My $50 rpi has that much ram. Apple fan boys will just eat that crap up and love it.

It's not 8gb of RAM (which is horrendous by itself) it's 8gb of unified memory ram+vram 😂😂😂😂 today even entry-level GPUs have 8gb of VRAM 😅😅😅 even old trash gpus have 2-4 gb of vram. So 8gb pf unified is like 4-6 gb of ram, in 2023 holy fook😂😂😂

I must be a minority, but I’d prefer 4 thunderbolt ports and no clutter (ie magsafe, hdmi, card reader, etc etc)

8GB in 2023 is, honestly, insulting. NAND prices are so damn low, they could very easily made it 16GB and barely touch the margins on a $1600 device. This is why I can't stand Apple sometimes. I have the whole ecosystem, I really enjoy their products, but also they're just assholes in so many ways. The unmitigated smarm they exude, as if they're doing us a huge favor by allowing us to buy a $5000 laptop.

Not understanding how they are calling the 14-inch MacBook Pro with the base M3 chip a Pro in the first place. Could someone please explain why this is a Pro device. Thanks.

For anyone saying that 8gb ram is enough, I would really like to know what type of work that you do. I am a technical product manager and Gmail and Google Meet take up so much memory while using Edge. And my work is done on a Thinkpad using 16gb ram and a12th gen i7 Processor. Along with corporate encryption and security software and around 10-15 tabs that I manage, my machine struggles.

There's nothing pro about the base Macbook Pro. It's the Macbook without Apple telling you that they've brought the Macbook back. And what's going to distinguish the base model from the Macbook Air when the Airs get the M3? I think Tim Cook needs to retire.

I have 16G on my MacBook Pro but it seems like I can never have more than 9-11G free even if I have nothing running so I'm confused as to how 8G Macs even work

How can 8Gb RAM is enough nowdays? The price is also a lot higher. I hope Apple standard for that price is higher.

I'm definitely considering the M3 Max 16". I unfortunately had my M1 Max 16" stolen a few months ago, and I've been using a MacBook Air for the time being.

Mac Address is so good. It's hard to believe that it's part of LMG. Hope Linus is taking notes.

@apple if you want us to move on so you can stop intel support then why not just drop intel support even release one final update to remove intel support from existing macs running older mac os.

we hackintoshers will hack intel support back into the os.

of course by dropping intel support you are accelerating the hackintoshing on arm unless that is what you want in witch case be our guests and force us to hackintosh.
