Hogwarts Legacy - Change THIS To Make Combat Feel 10x Better!

I guess I'll try this before I delete the game. The combat feels like ass. It's okay until situations like this with multiple targets with different color shields. Damn near unplayable at this point without using more potions than you should have to. Shame because I enjoyed it otherwise.

I can't literally play the game the controller is so shity why can't they make it like fortnite in the rest of it instead you got to move it around and it's always spinning it's f**** corable I played it for 10 minutes and shut it

When you were in combat with that duel. When your spell hits the person. It has like sparks after like around them how do I do that it looks cool

Dudeee I was so disappointed about combat in this game because of that. Was like locked in a fucking cone of view!

I just started playing this after it was on my PS5 for nearly 6 months. I was going to give it a fair shot at GOTY but after getting into harder combat quests this is where it fell off. The controller optimization is maybe the worst I've ever played. The block mechanic is awful. I'm constantly missing blocks because I'm spamming R2 for spells. so instead of blocking and hitting enemies with stupify I'm hitting a repairo and dying. It's awful. FF16 demo was light years better. Thanks for this clip I'll try it out. I want to love this game but FFFFF did they ruin this on controller.

Harry uses plenty of spells throughout the books. He uses a few spells a lot (expeliarmus, stupefy, expecto patronum, accio, lumos, etc.), but those are just the common ones. Goblet of Fire saw him expanding his spell repertoire quite a bit, and he also taught an entire class a bunch of spells the following year - not just spells he commonly used, but other spells like protego, and reducto (which Ginny was quite adapt at). He even uses some very obscure spells as protection enchantments in the final book.

The combat is too easy imo. You can basically dodge every attack so the blocking is almost useless. Other than that, you literally just spam spells and switch between sets. I mean, it's cool and certainly unique but not as polished as other games out there.

i don't think Quidditch would work unless you are just playing the seeker role, which then would make sense. However want to see more areas added in the DLC

Omg an hr trying to do crossed wands 3 fsiling misserably, as soon as i changed this, i was able to win, 2nd try.

Damn, whoever called out the fact Harry barely used any spells in the movies you was right, it’s been like 5 years since I watched it and I’ve done a count from memory… roughly in order (I think), wingardium leviosa, expelliarmus, ridikulus, patronous, accio, stupefy, crucio, imperio…alohamora and reducto are maybe in there too… but I think that’s it?? I might of missed a couple but damn, MC of the story was nerfed!! Even during OTTP’s DA scenes, we see him training all these people but never once using the spells, “livicorpus” for example? (Basically levioso). Accio he only used in three instances from what I can remember: firebolt, portkey, medicine. Wingardium leviosa was only during the first film right? Ridikulus (probs butchered that spelling) was only used in the 3rd film. The patronous made an appearance in theeee 3rd and 5th films when Harry used it? Reducto I’m not sure about I just vaguely feel like he said it during one of the DA scenes.

What’s funny is they’re given these wands and then half of the things they cast are silent incantation-less spells, which is also funny because pretty sure hogwarts don’t reach silent spell casting or even speak about it, at least not in hogwarts legacy they didn’t😂

I use mouse and keyboard.
Solo against 4 without using any regular attack. It get tiring after a while. Spider-Man Remaster thought me to avoid button smashing.

The problem I have is the aiming is your L3 on ps5 by your thumb, that’s also how to turn camera so as I go to turn to face other enemies the aim will go to another enemy:( it’s frustrating..

It’s honestly insane how addictive this game is.

I agree. If im not invested in the characters i dont care what their story turns into. Would love to see a "retrieve young harry potter with hagrid" mission in a later dlc.

i did that even before playing... in the first enemies on prologue LOL, i hate targeted games and this annoys me a lot... even the fact that aiming is shit i have to use the loose targeted aiming settings for now, waiting a first person mod that is really first person shooter type LOL

There is no targetting problem ir camera issues in PC version. The auto target select system is actually one of the best I've ever seen. No trouble switching targets at all.

How do you switch targets with this targeting mode switched off?

Play without HUD. Like I do.

maybe it's just me but i never changed my settings and i still play that same way off camera targeting and all

I probably spent the first 20 minutes on day 1 adjusting everything, that acceleration camera and fixed targeting was really annoying

I finished Hogwarts Legacy and it was a fantastic journey full of magic. But after that I tried to do a second playtrough and got so disappointed. It feels exactly the same as the first one. I picked another House, another sex and picked different answers or dicisions but everything stays the same. That should not be the case in a RPG.

i liked the improved combat settings that you recommended.

Tbh crucio should down the foe for few sec and make it look like they are in pain and they should scream, it feels more like a combat spell it should be reworked so that it feels more sinister i want to keep holding a button to make an enemy scream

I gotta he honest here, this is one of the dumbest complaints I have seen about the game.

Why is this not the default

I enjoyed the game. Though I never really felt the danger of the anchient magic. The main chast was so outraged about it even before we slightly understood what it was all about.
And when we or I found out I was like... welp... I'm setting people aflame and shoot lightning at them... taking pain seems a bit boring in comparison.

I love Hogwarts Legacy! Very well made. It actually feels like it's completed unlike most other AAA studio's recent releases.

None of the default combat controls make any sense. I have stop movement to switch spells? wtf?
