I know this off topic, do you have any info on flying at the same time as people using the older vistas and air units as the settings and channels are different on the 03
ОтветитьNormal people: bracket
Brits: brahki'
😂
Is the range the same?
ОтветитьWhen will they be released
ОтветитьIve designed cases and been doing this on 03's for a long time. Same with standard air unit and vistas. With the non 03 old air unit we re-flow the mmcx connectors off (those are alot of weight), and hard solder anteannas to scrapped traces. The difference with ours and still nobody does this (that I know of) we use ICE9 TPE 3D printed heatsinks, they weigh almost nothing and conduct a crazy amount of heat w thermal paste. Also ICE9 is an EM/RF shielding filiment so removing the RF shielding cans we still retain the RF shielding. ICE9 is SOOOOO hard to print. Took a good year a few years ago just to figure it out though. Its not even available anymore to my knowledge. But I stocked up on lots of rolls..
ОтветитьI'm not sure about this. Even with original case I was able to broke my o3 unit, and now I do not find the pcb part replacement.. I need a new o3 unit.
ОтветитьIt’s too expensive. 31 euro for 1 gram of aluminum is too much. With the same price I buy an entire frame.
ОтветитьThey need to support their G.D. V1 system.
Nobody should buy anything further from them until they do.
Why would any of us buy any V2 or V3 when they burned all the early adopters on the V1 system and turned their back on a dime on their main product for the next one just like Microsoft with it's operating systems. No thanks.
I have the ultra already build into a pavo pico. a) its "housing" is smaller so one have to do some work arounds to get it fixed and b) there are issues with the filter set. Because of the FOV you see the borders prominent in the feed and the cut outs throw reflections onto the lens from light objects from behind. I covered the cut outs with straps. Apart that I do not had any other issues what so ever. The flight time raised from 3 up to 5 minutes, amazing!
Ответитьthis hobby is too expensive, too complicated, too frustrating, and it's just not fun at all. and there was no customers at all who would pay you to fly around the sky to look at things for them. like none. at all. no ocean of customers waiting before, none during. it blew chunks as a hobby, and it was non-existant as a career...
ОтветитьHi Ian. How sure are you that all components are safe for a sonic bath?
ОтветитьIf you fly with GPS you're gonna want an RC switch, or FC with VTX power relay, to keep it off and cool until you are just about to arm.
ОтветитьWhat’s the width of the camera bracket?
ОтветитьThis is freaking awesome Ian! I bought 2 of the DIY kits! Cheers!
ОтветитьOn the flip side I have also seen a hard case for the 03 air unit by Darwinfpv that is completely waterproof, sitting on a mount similar to a go pro. This was for their RTF drone with floats i believe, but they also sell it as a standalone unit. My only concern would be cooling the air unit. I have also seen cnc machined cases to hold the air unit, camera and antenna, which could make for some interesting frame designs in the future.
ОтветитьWhat about the mounting dimensions of the camera and the air unit?
ОтветитьThis in a Pavo pico or any cinewhoop will be awesome
ОтветитьI just want an upgraded o3 camera that works in low light 😭
ОтветитьHi Ian... That's good news
Do you know if the altered camera will fit older frames?
Quads with GPS may be challenged with overheating before locking sats
Interesting however trying to use a naked Vista in Arizona USA outside during the summer is pointless. I imagine this would be just as bad if not worse. I can overheat a fully cased Air Unit and Vista in seconds here in the 100°+ summers.
ОтветитьI’ve ordered a Lite for a 3.5inch build I’m about to do. The one thing I know is going to be a pain is setting up in BF because of the lack of heat dissipation. But hopefully once it’s setup then it won’t be such an issue
ОтветитьHell no, never
ОтветитьI sent mine to Dax Neal to decase mine and he cleaned it up like it never had any thermal on it. I have no heat issues naked.
ОтветитьHumm interesting. Now it is getting lighter, maybe can skip the camera mod part for durability. just mod the vtx board part and move the gps to the front with shielding wire.
Ответитьtoday china has released the new economy data and exports are down 14,5 % year to year which is the 8th or 9th month in a row with declining sales figues and a domestic deflation, which means goods are becoming cheaper, therefore the cheaper flight controllers and radios, in case a new product will be released. they have not started cutting prices of old products but they will have to cause 14% less export is a key sign for a stalling economy in a post covid age and no financial crisis like 2008 .
They have to reduce the prices a lot more cause the imports have declined also by 12% which means that the companies do no expect any return to growth again.
I bet we will see a lot of suppliers in the hobby going out of the market with a bigger or smaller crash. Here in the EU the market is shrinking , hobby rc regarding units and sales.
Drones have not recovered and we are still beyond peak 2 or 3 years ago and far away, not only dji, overall. RC hobby shops are closing or reducing the shop size and this is not due to more online sales or online shops cause people have no longer the disposable income they had and people fear the investment needed in the future for cars or heatpumps and what not cause those are quite more expensive and interest rates have exploded from 1 to 4 or 6 % considering that 2 years ago mortage rate for a house were about 1,25% for 10 years.
I guess dji will have to cut the prices soon cause here inventory is piling up , I mean units and value, but everyone fears the clearance sales and hopes for new products with better margin but Air 3 sales are already disappointing for the big players.
Remember: who knows about current inflation in China ?
People assume it must be 10 % like here but that is not true: 2% in 2022 and stalling due to cheap energy from Russia, in 2023 it reached 0% in June and this means deflation.
Therefore I stopped all purchases from china and will wait for black friday and single sales cause I can wait for dji and bambu
I clean the boards with non-flamible brake cleaner. two cans with the straw. One can for each board. It is great for getting under the shielding on the sides. It takes about 10 minutes. Then dry with an air blaster or a heat gun. Let sit for 24 hours to make sure all the cleaner is gone. Wear rubber gloves on the hand that holds the boards or you will clean your skin off.
ОтветитьThis is great timing. In the process of building my own 4" LR drone using the flywoo explorer frame. The light weight version is very tempted as you mentioned it the easiest to do. To keep this system still water tight at the lights version could you conformal coat or does the plate that is left on provide that tightness.
Rumours are you are going to do one so we can follow ;)
Yay!!! I’m glad you made a video on it.
ОтветитьI wonder if you can access the videos saved on the O3 with a cable, connecting it to an iPhone. When you connect microSD cards with a dongle it appears on the Files app
Ответитьburn the house....xaxxax
Ответить2.2min before overheat warning is still much better than caddex light. My smal indoor betafpv with avatar display overheat before i reach it and flip it over at a crash in my 80sqm apartment so way less than a minute... actually use a 12cm fan as take off pad just to keep it cool....
ОтветитьWonder removing heat dissipator how good is. We all know eletronics needs to be cool, also for components life. Many "new" user by the time they turn on goggle and vtx and check if all works will DJI 03 survive ? Good you said mentioned loosing warranty, i guess we should see at what point without heatsink the dji 03 will fry.
ОтветитьNo one will make a lens, no “integral parts” can be made for the O3 system.
There is 3D prints from quite a few people to change to a standard lens though… but I don’t see a commercial product being produced until O3 is officially discontinued.
But what about thermal as O3 is known for overheating easily
ОтветитьThis would be insane on a light weight build without a gopro. Probably close 10min flight times with the right setup
Ответитьi wish they'd use a beefier connector for the camera cable
ОтветитьThanks for the video! I did this with the Quadmula 3d print files, 13.34g just for the o3 air unit and still flying beautifully after months.
ОтветитьCan you cook an egg on it
ОтветитьThat's cool .. i'd love to have that in my Explorer 4LR .. it's my go to drone these days !! 🤘
ОтветитьThis is what i waited for since the o3 was released!!!!!!
ОтветитьI think this has great just for the reason that you can put the camera in a 19mm mount..
ОтветитьAdded to a Mobula8 kit would be awesome 😎
ОтветитьThis opens up so many possibilities 👏
Ответитьgreat video but the retail image was a CAD render not an image from real life :)
ОтветитьDo you need to clean all the thermal compound off though?
Ответитьyeah - 50% lighter = 50% hotter. LOL. (no 'heatsink'(s))
ОтветитьI like it...well done😊
ОтветитьThis making me think of putting O3 in my Rekon5. I want ultra but no one can tell me recording time with on board 20gb .. I need atleast 30mins. So might have to do lite
Ответить
