I recently installed Linux Mint 19 32-bit on an old Toshiba Satellite laptop, single-core Celeron CPU. I had Windows 10 on it and it never worked right. I put a full 4GB RAM and 120GB SSD and still a dog. Linux 19 runs clean and stable. FAST too. No problems at all. The old girl runs like a young-un now.

I tried installing mint 20 but literally as soon as the desktop opens my trackpad(mouse) won’t register, so I can’t click on the install icon
Any fix

I have a desktop PC which has 32 bit architecture, so I decided to upgrade it, with a new motherboard and cpu etc, I have two hdd's in it, one with Linux Mint 19.3 and the other with Zorin 15.1, the boot menu starts up with the recognised distros, unfortunately neither hard drives will boot on the new motherboard, I thought 32 bit operating systems would play on a 64 bit system, but apparently not, it's driving me nuts, trying to figure out why not.

The special advantage of Linux Mint is that the Mint developers created the window manager - Cinnamon - which tries very hard to look & behave like MS-Windows, making it very easy for users to switch between MS-Windows and Linux Mint. Now, many linuxes (Ubuntu, Zorin, Arch, etc.) offer Cinnamon.

why not just use windows when you are used to it? linux is not for everyone and requires maintainance

you lovely excellent man i have a complaint. you talked about installing this I believe on the assumption that whoever was listening had only one hard drive. I'm not being a smartass, it was scary to hear about any other os just being wiped off my computer and that's what it sounded like. i needed to cross reference YOU, of all people

sometimes Linux mint 21 lack with Intel processor . Intel is optimized for windows. Ubuntu is better. I like windows or Mac for daily life.

I'm legally blind, and from what I've seen in this video, the "windows" resemble the ones in windows 10, which are bloody hard for me to see the control buttons in. There also doesn't appear to be any border around these windows. Is there a way to make the borders thick, with a colour, and a way to have the title bars, at top of window be a particular colour, with coloured control buttons? Also, I'd love to see a demo of this operating system's accessibility features, beyond the text scaling you showed. In particular, I'm interested to know if there's a proper screen magnifying feature. Reason I'm asking, is in 2025, when Windows 10 looses support, I'll be forced to dump Win10 from all studio machines, and go to Linux, only, as I can't afford to update the hardware to TPM 2.0, for Win11. Thanks for the video.

I have Sylvia (Mint 18.3 xfce), and I really don't see the major differences. A little more compare and contrast would be appreciated. Like how does the distro perform finding drivers when installing on a machine that had Windows with no remnants left behind. As always, thanks for the videos.

I installed the latest version of Linux mint on my new HP laptop but It doesn't have the wireless option under network settings, it only gives me a wired option, I connected my laptop to the internet via ethernet cable and I tried to download some software and wireless drives but it wouldn't download some of the software and wireless drives any suggestions that could help.
Update I installed ubuntu and it gave me the wireless option so now I am using ubuntu instead.
