On the hardcopy, there is a bit about attaching a photograph. So, does that mean no photo is required when completing the form online? Please Help!

It doesn’t help that after sending everything back to DVLA registered and signed for the following day, the muppets loose it and don’t accept my application online

This is my second time renewing my over seventies driving licence, i was very impressed with the efficiency of the DVLA, I filled in a simple on line form two days later my new licence arrived in the post, my only complaint is the photo i provided on the original licence disclosed what a ugly old man I had become but the new licence with its photocopied picture has turned me into a monster worthy of a starring role in a Hammer House of Horror film, aw well we all cant be Brad Pitt.

It is worth noting those renewing at 70 will likely have categories on their driving licences, that anyone passing their driving test today doesn't get.
For instance C1, permitting use of vehicles over 3.5T and up to 7.5T, which is lost if the renewal is done online.
This could be a real problem to retired couples with big motorhomes, minibuses or other large vehicles.
For those wanting to drive anything beyond a car, research everything at time of renewal, to ensure you keep what you need.

I filled in this form online. And I did not get a new licence but a form sent to me that requires 2 proofs of identity and they want a passport photo signed by a person that knows me but isn't related to me like a Dr or Business owner, etc. And a passport photo. I've never owned a passport. why did i get this? any idea? I've tried ringing the DVLA, but with the coronavirus i can't get through.

I have been instructed by the DVLA because the police have reasons, here is the reason. I was in an l drivers car when they hit a patch of deep water with an unseen pothole in it. I was in the front passenger seat, a wall of water spray out and over the windscreen, it was also dark, the driver a learner oversteered to get out of the flood and pothole. this action turned the car onto its roof. No one was hurt thank god, but when the ambulance man took my blood pressure it was high, so the police notified DVLA, now I have loads of forms to fill, have to go for a full medical. I think anyone involved in that situation would have High blood pressure hanging upside down in a car and the shock. My own car a fully automatic so easy to drive. eyesight good with glasses. no giddy turns. and mentally stable. wish me luck. Full medical coming up. I might take them around the F1 track.
