Testing Octane Render With 3 GPUs: 1 Gtx 1080, 2 1070s

Hi, I was planning to get me a new rig on a tight budget, I was thinking a tower where I can fit al least 3 gtx1080 just like you... but at 2023... should I get a rtx3080?

DOES it Required NVLINK ? or for Octane We can use multi gpu without NVLINK?

Great video! I can’t figure out how to decrease my render times even more... I’m using two graphics cards: GeForce GTX 1080 and 1080TI. I also have an overclocked AMD Ryzen 7 1700X processor, and 32 GB of RAM. Strange thing is that, while rendering, in the Task Manager I see the CPU working at 50% (almost all the time) and the GPU at 3% (except sometimes when it reaches like 30%, but it only lasts half a second, then it returns back to 3% or even 0%. This happens only with the 1080TI, which I use as my main graphics card, the other 1080 just stays at zero all the time). Is this normal? I’ve seen other videos where people render frames in few seconds using GPUs not as powerful as mine, and I’m currently at 1min with a relatively simple project! :( ...Is there any other way I can decrease to a MAX my render times??? Thanks in advance!

did you use SLI for the render, Im building a new rig with dual GTX 1080Ti 11GB, do i need SLi if my priority is for 3D architectural render and secondary 4k gaming

How are you cooling those 3 cards? I'm looking to add 2 more 1070s to my machine and I'm trying to figure out if the stock fan of founder edition cards are enough to displace the heat generated while they're in use. Any insight you could shed on this would be greatly appreciated! Cheers!

I have 3 GTX 1080's, would they run efficiently without them being in SLI for Cinema 4D (Octane Render or other Renderer) and for Adobe programs such as After effects and Premiere pro?

Would that help with octane render speed? The have different vram.

Are you using the tree cards with SLI? Or independents work?

Not only computer hardware but also hardware synthesizers I can see in the back, which are notoriously expensive.

What element of the GPUs is it using to render, CUDA cores? I've heard that Pairing slower cards limits the bandwith of the RAM, but do the additional CUDA cores assist with render time? I have 1x GTX 1080 and 2x GTX580 3Gb. Since the 580s are dramatically slower, I'm not sure if I should remove them entirely. Thanks for this demonstration by the way, it's helpful!

nice video, i run 2x titan x they noce but the 1070 put proform the titans slightly there great cards for octane. you said you dont know what tone mapping means, octane has a default camera settings if tonemapping is selected it will use them on the final render regardless to what settings you have in your name camers in the scene.
