I can't believe I finally understand how scales work. Tried so many times learning and always just could not wrap my head around it no matter how hard I tried, and then just gave up eventually because it didn't feel worth the hassle. Then I randomly come across a 20 minute video and everything just makes sense and instantly clicks in my brain. Actually just incredible.

Enharmonic equivalents are less about direction and more about context. In Eb major the 3rd note is Gb. In D major the 3rd note is F#. I’m still “ascending” or “going up” but the note name changes contextually.

Howdy y'all, can someone explain the minor scale to me? TAETRO mentions its easier to find the 6th key in the major scale and then play another major from there, but then he shows the Minor scale pattern(WHWWHWW) which does not produce the same sound. I was practicing the major scale in gSharp, so the 6th note being F. Starting from F following a major scale(but trying to get the minor scale/sound) I end up on the same note, but the notes played are different between the two examples.
