Derek, please paint the bare metal on, in and under your truck...it's too old, nostalgic, classic, rare and cool to NOT keep it from rusting for a loooong time to come! You can always clear coat or otherwise seal the metal to protect it if you want rust or patina, and what isn't going to show, paint it!

I had Banks headers on my 96 chevy truck, were made the same way. Put the headers in and never had to check bolts .

On the gas bottle front it sounds like either a road-trip to ND or investment in spray paint (color adjustment to TN standard) is required.

Those welds aren't pretty to be sure..no hate ok

This has been my favorite build to watch

Take the magnet out when you weld. Only leave it in to tack it up. Thats why you’re getting the bad splatter.

After doing first gusset, can you just flip the cut opposite? Already had the angle and would of saved a cut and steel.

I love watching vgg. I'm hoping to go on power tour next year in my ttop grand national. I bought the car last year from under a tree. I'm hoping to have it fully ready to go early spring. Hopefully our paths will cross at some point I'm a big fan. Thank you for doing what you do.

I wish Derick would do a top three list of the best of the big three big blocks small blocks and in-line six motors in his opinion I know he’s partial to GM, which is better and cheaper than the others but I’m sure there’s many of us that would disagree or have several makes. It’s sad to say, but I wonder if he has any thoughts about a good gas saving four-cylinder American made vehicle. Sometimes you have to drive a vehicle you hate to be able to afford to drive one you love. I wonder who will be paying for his kids gas once they are out on their own.
