This is prob not related to any part of this vid, but I HAVE THE SAME COLOR YARNNN
*inaudible gremlin noises*
Yeah my first hook was 5.00 millimeter but my first one that I actually used is 2.5 millimeter cause I was using thin yarn having no clue what to do😂😅hahaha😊
ОтветитьWait why did u say medium yarn for beginners in another video 😭. I listened and I haven’t gotten past th second loop of my single chain for the past 3 hours
ОтветитьFor people who don’t know the labels are wrong, if you take your hook that you think matches to the yarn your gonna take a piece of your yarn and place it in your hook if it fits then use it but if it’s to big or small try a different hook hope this helps love you besties! 🫶🏻
ОтветитьAs someone who has grown up around insanely skilled doily makers, I'm gonna have to disagree. Those tiny stitches are impossible. No wonder I thought knitting was easier than crochet at age 4.
ОтветитьI bought a crochet kit and it has everything for like making stuffed animals but I don’t really like the yarn Material and the hooks won’t go thru the holes when I do the chains and I just started I’m not really getting used to it, what should I do??
ОтветитьMe throwing the paper away before watching this video:😢
ОтветитьIs 4.5 km is oky for a beginner?
ОтветитьThe yarn I use if for 8.0 but I use 6.0 😭
ОтветитьWhere can u buy the chrochet yarn?
ОтветитьI’m literally using a rainbow loom hook rn bc my yarn is to thin for my other hooks lol I don’t fell like going to the store rn
ОтветитьI'm very comfortable with the 6.0mm hook
ОтветитьI think thicker yarn is much easier to work with. You can see the stitches much better and know what to put your hook in. Also a lot of fun to work with LOL.
ОтветитьI just got some fluffy chonky yarn today! But since its chonky i use the 4.5mm hook
ОтветитьI love using red heart super saver. It’s just the best for beginners.😊❤
ОтветитьI learned with a size G hook and weighted 4 yarn. Best decision i will ever make. The loops were easy to find and go into and it made a nice looking project. 100% recomend
Ответитьyou can also use your better judgment, my amigurumi wasn't working and there were massive holes all through it so I used a smaller hook and my next project was way better. So if it isn't working just use your better judgment :/
Ответитьi'm still sort of a beginner but i've been crocheting for a few weeks now. i still try to use bigger hooks like 5.5+ just because the smaller they get they hurt my hands :// could be tension but eh
ОтветитьDoes it matter if you use a smaller hook then what it recommends on the package? Are used yarn that usually calls for 8 mm and I use a 6 mm for that yarn instead
ОтветитьHi everyone I just want to say I'm a beginner so I suggest 4.5😁
ОтветитьI have a 3.5mm hook and it never works… thank you so much for this video now I know how to know what hook I need!
ОтветитьWhat if I have yarn that didn’t come with the plastic around it?
I stole it from my friend and which my bf gave me it
Oh my gods I have that same set! 🤩
Ответитьi usually size down 1-1.5mm so that the stitches are tighter and look neater especially for amigurumi because i hate when there’s holes
ОтветитьGracias ❤
ОтветитьThats the exact kit i have 😊
ОтветитьI try to crochet because people say it’s easier then knitting and I know how to knit and how do you do it I got one chain and then and throw it across the room you all are wizard
ОтветитьI started with a 5.5mm and then went to 10mm. It’s all about what project you wanna make and how you want it to look.
ОтветитьI am a beginner and you have helped me soo much!!!
Ответитьi think 5.25 or 5.50 because thats what i used when i started and actually its the yarn that really matters. The size hook that i put is good for a normal yarn. What i mean by normal is not to chunky and not to thin because chunky and thin are hard to crochet with
Ответитьi would reccomend going for 0.5 mm bigger than the reccommended .... just bc it doesnt get too tight
ОтветитьPretty funny I actually started with a 5.5mm hook! I had no troubles either!!
ОтветитьIf I did have to say the best size, I’d definitely say start with medium weight yarn (#4, worsted). Not too small to learn technique and not so large that you’re limited.
ОтветитьI have the same kit!😂😊
ОтветитьMy yarn that I have doesn’t say the crochet hook size so I just picked 4.50mm hook is that fine ?
ОтветитьHello just some little crochet things
I hope this helps (also I’m not a professional so if I get something wrong not hate pls just let me know) as a beginner I started out with a 5.5mm crochet hook and 8ply yarn if you are looking to start out and not sure if you are going to like it I suggest just getting a little kit or a hook and yarn (5.5mm or bigger & 8 or 12 ply yarn) that’s how I started and now I can make really cool things
Good luck on your journey
❤😊
What happens when you use a to big hook on a yarn like if it says 3-3.5 and I got a hook for 4 what happens ?
ОтветитьMine crochet sticker did not say what to use
ОтветитьPersonally it’s the shape of the hook for me, the colored metal ones are personally too blunt for me so I have a plastic one with a pointy-er end
ОтветитьI just use what feels right rn it’s a 5 millimeter
ОтветитьActually it does matter because if you use a smaller hook you're going to get a tighter weave and if you use a bigger hook you're going to get a much bigger weave. So if you're making a blanket as a beginner a big hook and a big weave probably will be just fine and much easier to work with. However, if you want to make a tank top you will need a smaller hook to make a tighter weave. So while the yarn may have some input into what size hook you use what really matters is the weave you want.
ОтветитьThe better question is which size YARN is best for beginners.
For that, I say 3-6 depending on what you want to make.
I would NOT recommend crochet thread or thin yarn. But if your dream project is a doily or table runner, I won't stop you. I would, however, suggest you start with a dishcloth, scarf or other small project before buying several skiens/spools and a tiny hook you will never use.
My problem is I have way too tight of stitching for most of the recommended hooks so I usually go 1-2 sizes smaller and it works great
ОтветитьFor me the yarn size and project matter. If I’m making a plushie worth chenille I’ll use a size 5 which is 4 sizes smaller than recommended and sometimes my tension will be tighter than if I’m making a blanket. It’s all personal preference though at that point
ОтветитьI use my mom’s set of metal crochet hooks, I think I started out with around 5.5mm and then gradually went out to 6mm and 4.25 mm!
ОтветитьI either go up or down a hook size with my yarn if I don’t want to use the recommended size.
ОтветитьWhich is nice hook
Ответитьthe most hook that I ever use is the 5.5 hook
