I've been a PC user almost my entire life, but today I bought a MacBook M1; I hope Apple will update it before 2025.

I bought an ebay refurbished M2 Macbook Air for $799 (base model). Couldn't pass that up for the light tasks I need a laptop for.

I use an M1 for my work as a data scientist. It it the best. And it doesn't have the notch.

But that notch on the M2 - ghastly!

I bought the M1 MacBook Air right before i started my masters program (i originally had a MacBook Pro Mid 2012 that was taking a dive on me), and even till this day. The battery life is outstanding and is so extremely fast. I cant believe three years later, the machine runs as good as it does.

The m1 macbook air is still a great buy, especially at discounted prices. I would caution however if you're one who wants to hold onto the machine for as long as possible, you're going to get a at least year or 2 less software support compared to getting an m2 or the soon to come out m3 macbook air.
But if you're only going to keep it for 3-5 years it's a great buy. If you're going to keep it over 5 years, I would wait for the upcoming m3.
Then again those are just my thoughts.

Still king. Audio is even better than on M2. I returned my M2 order and got a M1, i much prefer design & speakers....

Me & my daughter have used the MBA M1 for the past 4 months, we're loving it. My wife has $800 to spend on a new laptop, ops for a Windows (though might consider using a Mac). I was looking at all the available Windows laptop, but nothing just seems to click. After seeing this video, you've convinced me to convince my wife to buy an M1. Thanx man...

Got mine mint condition for 500 pounds off ebay in June. I had a very noisy ASUS but this thing doesn't even have a fan. I only use it to watch stuff and study and it can go up to 18-20 hours easily. Such a good laptop. I see it lasting for many more years

I'm going to gift me a m1 macbook for Christmas, the cheaper price I found is on FB Marketplace, new with 1 waranty year for $650, the m2 still be at $1000, so I just need it for the portability, the power, and the iOS programming environment, for games and other stuff I already built a PC, so the M1 is perfect for me, but the m2 still looks and sound better, that make me doubt.

I just got this laptop. 8gb and 256gb HD. As i said in another video, it replaced my 2012 MBP 13in. This laptop for me is the perfect laptop. Its quick for what i do with a computer. Got mine new for $700. Running Sonoma 14.1.1. Love this computer. Its the nicest laptop ive owned and ive owned MANY laptops. Only issue with it, has no magsafe charger. But i bought an adaptor that does this. Also you need a hub to get USB 2.0 or HDMI. But thats small stuff in the end.

Why are people keep buying intel macbooks, despite the keyboard issue? Simple really, intel macbooks are still 100% compatible with all intel software without issues, and you can still add an external graphics cards, link to dual or triple monitors, and all that other stuff that the M1 don't do. I have a base model M1 MBA, btw.

I'm using a 2020 M1 MacBook Pro and it is just as good as the MacBook Air. Unpopular opinion but I kinda like the touch bar when it's set to the expanded control strip and to show the Function keys when I press and hold the "fn" key.

Was going to get one but Best Buy had a deal on 14 inch MBPs because the M2 14 inch was coming out. Figured it wouldn't hurt to have the new features and the extra cores. It's crazy how good these M family of chips are. What piece of tech can be highly recommended at 3 years old?

This video really made me realise how bad my 2015 macbook pro is 😂. My iPhone 13 Pro absolutely (and I mean utterly) destroys that fat chunk of aluminium in just about any task possible.

Just to be a devils advocate. I have a M1 MacBook Air that is 3 years old, Apple replaced its display at 2 years 11 months due to dead pixels on the display. It is a very lightly used device.

Is this the base model M1 8gb 256gb?

in my country the 8/256gigs version still sells like 650 dollars new and 550 for the used one.. so i think need other options 🤒

You don’t need to insult people for what they bought. The world doesn’t revolve around US ! The prices are very different in other countries.

I'm here to add to the chorus of voices echoing how great the M1 MacBook Air has been. I got one in August of 2021, and since then, it has performed as well as the day I bought it. That is not hyperbole; by any reasonable metric, it is as good as it was then, and perhaps with further updates it's better in some regards. It's a laptop for people who want to get things done, honestly; the battery life, the performance, the overall quality of it, is just superlative. In hindsight, I would have gotten one with more hard drive space or memory, but... honestly? For all the stuff I do, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage is more than enough.

Folks, it's just a good machine.If you need a laptop, consider it. If you don't need a laptop specifically, the Mac mini is just as powerful for less money. Consider it!

The M1 Air is the only model available in Gold. That seals the deal. Loving mine. $799 new. A no brainer.

I have an M1 Air and it has been great. The Apple Care expires in March next year and I normally replace my laptops at this point (they are bought through my company) and get the next model. I won't be doing that this time. There is nothing the M2 Air does that my M1 doesn't do. I've lost count of the number of laptops I have had over the past 20 years, but this is by far the best laptop I have ever had. I simply don't need any more than this. If I had to gripe about anything it would be that it only supports 1 external display, and there are times when I would like to have 2, but other than that, it is perfect. And I still can't believe this thing has no fan. I can't put a price on working in silence.
