Im very appreciative of your work.
Ответитьmy only problems are impatient with ppl and lazy

ОтветитьI think one thing everything should think of is, don't choose a career that has the least amount of downsides. Choose the career that will give you the most satisfaction. That way, even when it's hard and challenging, you will still want to continue on this path. It's much better than being stuck with something you have no passion for.
ОтветитьDr stands for drug's and dragon it's sorcery is pharmacy means pharmakeia
ОтветитьI am currently at the tail end of my residency training, and I 100% agree
with these 4 reasons for not going into med school. I have colleagues who are suffering as doctors because of these.
Anyone else completely terrified of a bad work life balance once they become a doctor? I want to be a physician, but not at the expense of raising my future children. I want to be a stay at home mom someday, and ideally only work part time. As a doctor this is very hard I’ve heard. That’s the only thing stopping me.
ОтветитьHoly crap 😳!!! I had no idea you actually had to talk to the patients. 😮
ОтветитьI really dont know what i wanna do for college, i'm in my last high school year and still no clue, and the reasons for me to not go to med school would be the first and the last, and still, i have no idea what to do, what path to follow, if i wanna be a doctor, an entrepreneur, or a speecher, i really have no idea, i'm completely lost, does someome have a advice that could give me?
ОтветитьAm I also doing biology, chemistry and physics because I want to do medicine and surgery at University but we don't have enough money for joining medicine but it's my dream
ОтветитьHi everyone,
I went to college and obtained a pre-law. It was a BA, not a BS. I am a non-traditional student. That being said, I have always love psychiatry and also cardiovascular medicine. I started reading psychology which transformed into psychiatry. I am 29 now. I don't have children, or anything major to tie me down—besides my goal of getting back to school. In my year off though, I have realized I think I made the wrong choice with law. I admire it; however, I really love helping people and I want people to live better lives. Background, when I was born, I had a congenital heart defect—I had heart surgery 3 times before I was a year old. I didn't;t realize how much this amazed me until now. I have great grades but now that I am contemplating on changing everything, I don't care about the grade as much as I care about the work. I love work and I love people. I was wondering what bachelors degree is best and if there are specific undergrad curriculum that is necessary. I don't fear anything about my educational journey besides rejection. What do you all experience as med students and pre-med students. I seen a few vlogs, but they didn't really quench what I believe to be the true reality of the educational process. I would like to be informed and enlightened on what this experience is like.
I hope to hear from y'all. Thank you.
Parental pressure is a huge problem in my case , they don't even want to listen that I don't like biology or I like any other subject. All they care about is in our country, doctor is a safe profession for females ,lol . In our country parents fund the education of children always , but in my case they told me if I don't pursue medicine they won't fund my education. I just hope no one gets such parents, both took business and commerce stream , have no idea about science and biology and expect me to fulfill their expectation only bcoz its safe wow . They won't even have a logical conversation, all they say is what will you do becoming an architect, what will do studying iba , like Hell . All my career talks with them ends with fights and my tears (now replaced by anger) . My mother wanted to be a doctor but she couldn't so she is putting this on me as she doesn't have any other daughter and I don't even want to talk about my father. He has 3 siblings and NONE OF THEM ARE DOCTOR but my mother brainwashed him very well that he won't listen to anything about it bcoz that's
"Safe for females" . This is very frustrating and I don't know what to do , you guys are lucky if your "parents" let's you pursue what you like and not putting their unfulfilled dream as a burden on you .
Greetings and Salutations
I told myself being a doctor will pay the bills
So I went to a hospital job fair
Good luck huh? 😊
it's okay to be a doctor And it's not that difficult. But this is also not wrong People become doctors for respect and money. But both of these are not in it It's just like a very expensive car which is running at very cheap rent
Ответитьthis vedio has helped my son study hard thank you
ОтветитьI love how all of these medical mysteries have something to do with food! Thank you so much for sharing these with us <3
ОтветитьToo late , im in med school now
Ответить😂❤
ОтветитьI'm a retired doc. I would add, amend, or underline a few items on your list.
1) memorization is so important, so if you can't or are frustrated while trying to memorize vast amounts of information, don't go to medical school. Take a week and memorize the paths of all the cranial nerves, then the names of the bumps on the bones for all the attachements of all the muscles of the legs and arms - if this is too hard, or makes you frustrated instead of laugh, don't go to medical school.
2) if you get frustrated or overwhelmed by not knowing, or would feel inferior by these deficiencies, don't go to medical school. These deficiencies would motivate a successful doctor rather than frustrate.
3) if you can't function well, mentally or physically, despite sleep deprivation or rest deprivation, don't go to medical school. Take a week and sleep 4 hours a night while continuing to work non stop for 16-20 hours a day learning and memorizing new information, and applying critical thinking. If this is too hard for you, don't go to medical scool. Dedication drives a person past the point of exhaustion; but for some, their bodies and minds just can't function well when exhausted despite that dedication. So for them, medicine is not the right choice.
4) if you are too empathic, or are overwhelmed by the feelings of others, so that a person's misfortune interferrs with your ability to think clearly and rationally, don't become a doctor.
Some may think that the above difficulties referr to medical school. But they also refer to residency and practicing medicine. In residency you will be sleep deprived and exhausted and still be responsible for peoples lives. And while practicing medicine, you will be in the OR or Hospital or clinic 50-60 hours a week. You will have to keep a distance from the feelings of your patients so you can think rationally and diagnose and treat accurately. You will have to put your own and your family's priorities second to the priorities of medical care for others. It's not easy.
Looking back, I regret the time taken away from my family, and though my patient's loved me, I wasn't the doc I had hoped to be. I think I would have preferred being an engineer.
How do you deal with being late for an exam and not allowed to take it, then being told that all you have done is over. Is this fair or can you go to someone and try to make up for it. The mental stress of fear is overwhelming and distracting from doing anything. What can be done.
ОтветитьMe watching this video while already choosing Pre-Engineering....👁️👄👁️
ОтветитьI'm 14 and the only reason why I'm considering doing med is because of my dad's standards and I'm afraid of disappointing him.
Ответитьmy only problem is that i despise people
ОтветитьNumber 3 is probably the truest statement I have ever heard
ОтветитьOk
Ответить2023
Ответить@MedSchoolInsiders I am an NP in practice for about 12 years and I totally 100% agree with the points you brought up in this video. I worked a set of podiatrists in the past that don't love with that do and hate it when someone else has the charisma to work hard. They hate it when they have to spend extra hours studying or in clinic. Their idea was a 9-5 job 5 days a week and that is in no way represent medicine (MD/DO/NP/PA/CRNA). Its constant, you are either seeing patients in clinic, rounding, charting, or taking care of various admin tasks (such as answering multiple jellybeans in ECW from patient calls) etc.
Ответить"Med school requires more memorization than critical thinking."
Me who has the worst memory but really good at thinking, and parental pressure: .........
I don't even want to go to medical school. I want to be a singer, why am I watching this?
ОтветитьAlmost Every thing in life requires human reaction. So, for ppl who hate ppl, where do they go?
ОтветитьAs a 9th grader studying phorensic science, I obviously do not know as much as a university student. But, I do know what I am studying -- it's pretty much the basics of subjects like toxicology, histology, and more. We have been investigating a fake death case for the first trimester of the year. Now, we are moving into the second unit which is basically dealing with patients, being a nurse, and communication skills. Our teacher says only few nurses come out of that class. (usually students that take phorensic science for 4 years) It can be very tough to be a nurse/doctor/anything related to the simplest things like taking blood pressure, temeprature, and then things like doing a surgery on somebody. kinda just explained nurse/doctor
Many people are not able to deal with keeping a calm but friendly demenor everyday as a nurse, doctor, anything really. But yeah, just wanted to share that lol
Ex-doctor here. It's funny that I almost hit all 4 points (I don't HATE people but I can't deal with stressed out people or frustrated/angry people, and patients often act this way when they are in pain)
For those of you who are wondering/nervous about medical school, once you get admitted to the programme medical school is really the easy part. In reality you don't need to know everything to be a good doctor, you need great people skills and common sense, the rest is experience.
The hard part is actually working! The physical stress of long hours, the mental stress of working under pressure with lives on the line, the psychological stress of tough decisions, and mulling over potential mistakes late at night instead of sleeping for your early shift tomorrow... It's hard work unless you feel the passion and the calling for it.
Honestly my parents don’t pressure me into studying medicine it’s actually the contrary “too much studying and low salary” it’s so discouraging
ОтветитьI am allergic to hard work but I want to change that. How do I do that
Ответитьim currently in med college and i honestly wish i didnt come here. and now i dont know what to do. feel so much trapped. my parents suggesting i take a year gap and try again in med college. but i dont know.. i honestly have so much self destructive thought all the time
ОтветитьI am all of these, and I'm in my second year of med school. God help me
ОтветитьToo bad im already trapped
ОтветитьThe fact that its literally all of these but there's nothing i can do to get out of this situation
ОтветитьToo late for me I'm graduating med school in June 2024
ОтветитьEveryone talks about their dreams I neve understood that. The Good Lord said whatever your hands find to do do it well, with all your might. Ask God to guide you into your purpose, He knows what He created you to do
ОтветитьTotally unexpected, I just realized that Mario updated his favorite way to tackle ED and it's crazy! Although what he previously talked about was pretty decent, it was difficult to follow, I just go'ogled the latest in Mario's Thunderous Erections, it's so much simpler and potent now!
ОтветитьI don't want to become a doctor but due to parental pressure, I have no other choice they desperately want to see me become a doctor I failed in all the criteria he mentioned in the video, I don't know what to do now.
Ответитьwhat if I want to get into medical school because a medical degree is a requirement for the career I want to pursue??
ОтветитьYeah, I have all the signs, but what if you live in a country where only doctors aren't poor lol?
ОтветитьI fully disagree with 3rd statement. Medical school is more about how to segregate information needed for your job from those that are only needed to pass exams. 90% of subjects are only to pass them and those information will never be needed again. Being intelligent helps you to cope with overwhelming amount of material. You basically stated that if you can manage high school with ease you won't be able to manage medical school. So who can manage? Those that to manage only high school had to work 10 times harder? I study only a few hours a day and can manage so don't listen to the part that the only thing you'll be doing is studying.
ОтветитьMe with a dad actively telling me this is a bad idea lol.
Ответитьmed school requires way more critical thinking and not as much memorization since theres way more application based scenarios in medicine. so idk if i agree w this. MS-1 myself
ОтветитьI’m happy I came across this video. I identify with all of the points
