I find these games very passionant.they take the player in woonderful world.
But for a new player it is little bit

I loved Sable, but I can't believe you picked that over Death's Door which is just fantastic. It's basically and old school LoZ with a great art style, audio and a brilliantly quirky world.

Psychonauts 2 being 10 and Disco Elysium being an honorable mention have me turning this off before he's even started explaining.
Scott always gets stuck with the worst lists. Love him though.

Halo Infinite blew me away, everything I wanted from Halo since Bungie left yet really never thought I’d see. I’m hoping the campaign gets some great add ons in 2022. Resident Evil Village was so much campy horror goodness, and Metroid Dread came through with an absolute bang. I’m so hoping Metroid Prime 4 can hit with the same intensity, the original prime is my favorite game of all time.

I dont feel it takes two deserves to be here, the gameplay was solid and good fun but the story was weak af so it made it drag on, my missus and i just wanted it over by the end

I am really enjoying Halo but it, like always, is very overrated.

Returnal was on the overrated list but now he says no one played it. That makes minimal sense.

Horizon is nowhere near Burnout.

2021, returnal a launch game from the ps2 no one would of give a second look is atop 10 game of the year in 2021, ain't played but if it weren't for re7 cushioning the blow with the fps half survival game, village If dropped before 7 n after 6 would of been hated as a none survival action game without survival horror elements we crave, village has werewolves n vampires ffs (ain't played re 8) but the idea is horrendous, set it in some European Town similar to re4 cos everyone loves it, and just add the most stereotypical horror enemies that were over used in basic 8 bit developers arsenal, (vampires, werewolves etc

I'm curious do big channels actually have there own opinion or all just flow with whatever the general concensus is, now ita aubjectuve of course but how come every big publication literally have the same opinions to a tee, now my dude voicing this is a real gamer but literally very list big channels have dropped are almost identical, now it's subjective but psyconaughts other than the idea of the game being impressive to norms, character design is shite game play mechanics are dated, it ain't amazing unless you're a pretentious twat

I am a big fan of the HALO campaign. I liked all of the story 1-5. I was seriously concerned when they said they were going to do a soft reboot of the franchise. I knew that meant they were going to finish what happened in HALO 5 with 2 sentences and with everything happening off screen. The first hour of the campaign did nothing to change that for me. I can honestly say, at least for myself, they did a damn fine job with the story. I definitely satisfied with how they handled it all and the game with all of that open world was fun to play. I can't wait for co-op now.

Knockout City and Scarlet Nexus are probably my top 2. Halo Infinite would also make my list but Scarlet Nexus and Knockout City both came without anticipation for me.

Guardians was absolutely stellar. I can honestly say I prefer their characterizations to the films. I was expecting a humor filled jaunt through space and was surprised at the depth the game had.
Finished Disco Elysium at a friends insistence a few days ago and was blown away, but it's very niche plus it being the Final Cut vs the original release, so I can understand why it wasn't on the list.
On the topic of depth, the same could be said about Psychonauts. It does a masterful job at diving into the character's various traumas and weaves a intriguing narrative throughout.

Having the guy who compiled a list of the most overrated games of the year narrate the GotY list - both of which videos feature a large portion of the same games is classic irony, what a hypocrite!

3 of these games you had on a list that said "most overyhyoed games of 2021" yalls lists are all over the place. How are they game of the years but also over hyped?

Scott made his rather controversial list of overrated games list and someone at WhatCulture thought it'd be a good idea to have him also present the best games of 2021 list. I get that he mentions that this list is made by the entire WhatCulture team but it's jarring to hear him present games he thought was overrated in this list as best games.
