This is three years old so some stuff are not looking the same. But trust me, if you put it on transparent when the image is rendered it is transparent.

we can't set up a solid color instead of the checker background for the transparent background ?

In 2.81 and above the Alpha setting within the Film tab is now just labelled as 'Transparent'.

The rest seems to remain the same. Thanks for the video!

Blender 2.83.3 is out now, be sure to upgrade! Looks slightly different now but this is still a helpful video - I didn't know to look under "Film" myself. New to all this Blender junk ;)

I do this for PNG and it keep rendering black

when i render it saves with a black bg, help (im in cycles and i checked off transparent)
