Why Bollywood is losing its spark

North more racist. When Hindi films were not doing good numbers India was “one country” after 2023 its boasting about Hindi films being biggest blockbusters, and north south divide emerges again. 🙄

And then they came with a bang in 2023.

Having watched both North and South. South movies are much ahead in every way: Story, technicalities, screen presence of stars. North always had a superiority complex so they never allowed South to step in. Language was another barrier as Hindi did not sink dep in. With internet, the global community get to better judge.

Further, South are looked down upon for color surprisingly the world is noticing it.

I'm positive the new movie Hanuman is going to cause ripples again just as Bahubhali and RRR. Reason south is better is because of fierce competition and less nepotism.

It's worth remembering people that this video was released last year...it seemed like Bollywood lost its appeal by then, I even remembered that more movies were being made that tried to tackle more serious issues and separate itself from the "Bollywood" tropes like singing and dancing...all to mixed results.

However, in now in 2023, a movie called Pathaan came out, which according to many helped revitalize interest in Bollywood films. Now granted, this was a ball-to-the-walls action thriller starring SRK himself, but it was a surprise hit and the highest grossing film in 2023 to-date. I'm not a 100% sure what attributed to its new success...maybe because it was the official jumping off point for a new cinematic universe in India, maybe it was just for the combined starpower of SRK, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham...I personally think it was a combination of timing (it coincided with India's Republic day weekend AND was on a January) and just being a darn good action-film anybody can enjoy.

I watched the documentary and insightful it was; covered virtually all the factors but for the biggest and the the most important of all.The advent and rise of so called social media platforms such as instagram, tiktoks etc....This is the biggest reason for the degradation of the world cinema not just the bollywood.There will always be some film industry doing better than the other.Perhaps Bollywood is not doing as great as compared to other indian movie industries presently but it is a global phenomenon rather than just bollywood not doing well.When all the people in the world are hooked or addicted to the nonsense and worthless content that social media is propogating ;in a world where every single individual has the means and tools to produce their own little content(however inappropriate and worthless it may be) without any form of cencorship(cinemas are still subjected to regulations and cencorships) and has the algorithms to make it spread like a wild fire thus in the process getting instant recognition by the entire world , it is no wonder that the traditional movie industries and their stars have lost the charm.
Here comes the era of becoming a star from the comfort of your bedroom by just saying hello guys ....
You dont need hard work
You dont need knowledge
You dont need capability
Anymore.......
But hats off to those who do put in a lot of effort to produce some meaningful content even on social media!

Fascism destroys everything

The basic reason for failure o Bollywood industry are as follows :-

1)The industry never grown with current audience or the present people interest
2)After launch of OTT people have option to watch any kind of movie from any language the barier of language has been broken
Indian people started watching Malayalam ., Tamil movies which are low budget movies but with amazing artistic and realistic narration and with good content.
3)bollywood stuck with same pattern and template stories and hero/hereon oriented movies
4)Huge money flow and nepotism made the industry to stick with what they had in the last
5) A major reason of the failure is stories - After 2014 - The govt is interfering more in to ART or PR, they will interfere in to movie contents, the govt dont allow critics or any kind of stories which will be against their views - so the writers will not have any kind of freedom ...but in southindia it is in reverse , they have much freedom to express in art/movie .. it reflects in good content

There is no space for any country every one will be living in the personalized echo chamber. Who wants to watch some other culture guy as a hero who doesn't look like him😂

Like what Rocky said in KGF, nepotism will be the downfall of bollywood.

DW, is very sad that caste is not highlighted in Indian films.

And because of that now Indian youth are not even considering caste while they go out.

Too much of anything will always lose its appeal. That's happening now in bollywood. It will happen in all film industries. There's so much good content everywhere, and it's very easy to produce content now. The same repeated content/theme will lose the demand.
And may be people are tired of watching so much content as well.

Shahrukh khan came with a bang with 3 bach to bach all time blockbuster and created history in 2023 with the box office collection of 3000cr ($400M) 😅 smashed south industry out of park 😎.

Now Bollywood f*cked south industry badly, The return of king SRK , He smashed the boss box office and created history in 2023 with 3 back to back movies .

Bahubali is also Tollywood not kollywood.

Bollywood will fight back, it has always done it and will do it again. This similar era came in 80’s when people started having TV in there houses just like how OTT has come and many people got hooked to watching TV at home than going to cinema . That’s why 80’s is also considered to be one of the worst eras of Bollywood ( offcourse we dint have so much media otherwise there must have been a similar video in 80’s also calling ‘ Is Bollywood Over’” but the 90’s came and it came back bigger than before. And again now we are seeing a beautiful but slow rise again and by 2025-2030 Bollywood will be back bigger than before !

This caste issue absurd cause obviously making a movie takes crores of money and only upper caste can afford it ! How can someone from
Middle of lower caste who is working for daily food start making films ? Common ! And when it comes to actors and rest of the team members of making a film there you can find a person from every caste, be it a hero or a techniqian cause it’s a skill base service. Most actors if they are not star kids belong to middle caste ! Be it Shahrukh, Akhshay, Kartik Aryan or Vicky Kaushal

Nepotism at large is responsible for downfall, hurting religious views

Indian Films generally are too simple and the stories just don't make sense. Either they're too sexist, too outlandish and just plain non-senss overdramatized.

I rarely watched Indian Films because of how repetitively similar they are...

Bollywood people ridicule Hindu Sanatan Dharma and Bollywood always serves obscenity to the audience, Bollywood cannot be called Hindi because it uses Urdu for its films and songs. Bollywood does not use Devanagari script which is used to write Sanskrit and Hindi language, these Bollywood people use Roman script to write Hindi. Bollywood has been cut off from its roots. Brother nepotism is big, it is the reason Bollywood is not able to earn. I like RRR, KGF, Pushpa, Bahubali 1 ,2 more than Bollywood movies.
