How to Use USB Drive with VirtualBox Virtual Machine

this didnt work for me. USB shows up in Linux (main computer) and I can eject it. It however is not populating in the USB options of the VM

When I try to eject the USB from my main system, it shows up as "VirtualBox <name of the USB stick". upon Ejecting it, the virtual machine recognizes the device as "Unknown device"! Im at a loss here, i havent found anyone with the same problem anywhere... and just mounting the device normally makes it show up as "damaged" in the Virtual Machine. This really sucks as the contents of the USB drive are hidden and inaccesible with the regular windows explorer.

Hi I am using Ubuntu desktop with a vm of win7 I have tried somant time to grant access to the usb exactly as in this video but I still cant see the USB can someone help please
