Take that same faith and put it in Jesus??? Where in the Bible is that? Saving faith is something completely different and is a gift from God.

Who is this guy ?

In the gospels, Jesus stated: if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will be able to move mountains.

This statement is a misinterpretation of what Jesus truly said and it reveals how the disciples and gospelers misunderstood the teachings of Jesus.

If a person are to have "faith" the size of a mustard seed - what does that mean? How can you measure faith in such a way?

Faith is faith.

It is the "power of total conviction" in the mind, possessing the mind, and it cannot be restricted in "size."

Faith, arising out of your need to believe in something, because such a belief will serve your purposes in some way, can be powerful and strong, but never can it be estimated in "size!"

Belief is even stronger. Belief is the offspring of hearsay and logic. Because you have heard something and you have been convinced that what you have heard or read is true, you develop a deep belief in what you have heard. You believe it to be true. You believe in a total, complete way which defies contradiction.

Jesus was constantly telling people: "Believe you will receive - and you will receive."

However, Jesus knew at the time, that it would be almost impossible for people to ever have the faith which would cause miracles to happen, since no matter how much Jesus might explain Truth to people, they would still never have the intense knowing given Jesus in the desert.

Up to this time, some people have had faith in "Jesus Christ" but they have been like precocious children. Their faith has been partially blind and accepting, yet interwoven with much doubt. Therefore, whatever they needed to be done for them, they depended on "Jesus" for the work to be accomplished. Whereas, in fact, much of what they believe they have derived directly from "Jesus" has been their own "faith in Jesus" made visible in the form of things asked for.

While this child-like "faith" is very important to our well-being, those who are capable of moving onward on the spiritual path to perfection, must now reach a deeper level of true knowledge of the relation between mind and "matter." Without this foundation, people will continue to flounder in myths and will be locked into the misery of the human condition.

Faith without works is dead. Faith is empty till filled. Faith is not blind, has knowledge we perish for the lack of. Paul taught to give faith what is lacking. Faith needs to be established as taught. And the faith to believe has a reason for believing.
So, sorry Billy your sermon is Way wrong. And the only Way to find faith is to walk in the Way in/of Jesus.

Faith is believe without evidence.

This is nonsense. All those scenarios are confidence and evidence based, not faith. Faith is for the ignorant and weak minded. I believe where the evidence points. That’s the right thing to do.

Billy Baalam talked grace through faith but then he put conditions on it.

Billy redefined faith as obedience and belief as total commitment.

Let's help Billy with the Biblical definition of faith.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen.

Billy said that you must repent of your sins and give your life to Christ for salvation.

Those are a lifetime of works and has never saved anyone or contributed in any way to salvation.

That's for service, not salvation!

Salvation is absolutely free and not conditional upon service.

Saving repentance is realizing that you are a sinner deserving of God's just punishment in Hell and turn (repent) from whatever you trusted in before, if indeed you trusted in anything; to trusting in the person and finished work of Christ alone for salvation.

Trust and confidence are not the se as faith. You understand how a chair is built, you know that chairs have been reliable for sitting on in the past and you wouldn't trust in a chair that was obviously broken and you look before crossing the street. Believing in a God is not compatible to sitting in a chair.

How can anyone hear the "good" news? Romans 10:17 Then faith comes from hearing and hearing by the word of God.

The Birth Of Jesus Christ (see also Isaiah 53:5)
Isaiah 7:14: "Therefore the LORD shall give you a sign; behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and call His name Immanuel." Hebrew: עִמָּנוּאֵל, "God with us" in human flesh but without sin. The Savior of the world was born to die for our sins! He did so 33 years later. His terrible ordeal, the body was mutilated, the blood was poured out, but the bones were not broken, buried in a Tomb and risen on the 3rd day.

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." Romans 3: 23
"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6: 23
"I am the way, the truth and the life: no one comes to the Father except through me." John 14.6

Matthew 26:28 "For this is my blood of the New Testament, which is shed for many for the redemption of sins."
Ephesians 2: 8: "Because you have been saved through faith, and this is not from you. This is the gift of God".

Jesus died to pay the penalty for our sins and rescue us from eternal death. Because of Jesus' death on our behalf, all we have to do is believe in Him, trusting in His death and in the shedding of His blood as payment for our sins, as well as in His burial and  resurrection from the dead the third day, and we will be saved! John 20: 24-31; See also 1 Corinthians 15: 1-4 above.

Romans 10:
9 If you confess the Lord Jesus with your mouth and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 For with the heart man believes in righteousness; And a confession by mouth is given to salvation.
13 For the one who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

Salvation and forgiveness of sins is the blessing of anyone who believes in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. We receive from God (not man) the baptism of God the Holy Spirit immediately which seals us in Christ and that is permanent! Ephesians 1:13-14. Those who reject the free gift of salvation, see John 3:16 above, "perish", which means their sins are judged by God the Son and they suffer eternal separation from God and the family of God forever called the "second death". Revelation 21: 8

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. ”Romans 5: 1
