Apparently, Putin is not so smart. I see how hard he is not trying to invade Ukraine and make Russia great again.

It is the huge blunders and crimes that U.S. hypocritic politicians committed to the Ukraine and Ukraine people simply due to the U.S. and the Western countries' deep-rooted nucleophobia and Russophobia!
After Ukraine became independent, the United States, together with Russia, used both soft and hard tactics to force Ukraine to give up nuclear weapons, long-range weapons, and long-range bombers, etc., and finally exchanged "security guarantees" for Ukraine. However, U.S. did nothing 8 years ago, did nothing but suggested to flee even when Ukraine faced Russians' full-scale war to take over Ukraine 1 year ago. They simply pulled out all teeth out of a baby and put her next to a polar bear, watching her being attacked once, twice and more.

It’s sad to see the potency of American propaganda and the things it’s done to the citizens of this great country. Scrolling through the newest comments and seeing all of these Americans falling for false narratives propped by our state owned media is quite disheartening.

Bruh. When these people talk about “strategic interests,” they do not even discuss that the territories and resources in question belong to other states. It’s as if the whole world, except America, is an empty place where you can do whatever you want. And then they trying teach us democracy. Absurdity.

Putin repeated this narrative during his televised speech on Feb 24 2022. There's nothing new here. So what else can Ukrainians say but 'Thank you' for aiding in the academic legitimization of a nationalistic narrative which justifies the invasion of their country by a historically aggressive and paranoid neighbor ? War crimes (torture, rape, murder of unarmed civilians like you and me) included. The comment section is now a mecca for right wing dumbasses who will bleed approximations of this information dry. Thank you University of Chicago!

I’m sure this man is educated and he may think what he is saying is correct but Ukraine is not a “problem”. Ukraines existence is not a problem, it is to Russia because they say it is sure but that’s just because they’ve felt they conquered the territory before. Ukraine has fought multiple wars for their independence. After ww1, during and after ww2 and the same thing is happening now since 2014. Times have changed but the enemy has not. Ukrainians do not like or want to live under the heel of Russian rulers. Ukrainians have lived under occupation for so long and they still have the will/desire to fight for their independence. To act as if the people who are mainly “Russian” speaking or pro russian are Ukrainians is wrong. They may be on the territory of Ukraine but they were planted there after Soviets exterminated/shipped off local Ukrainian populations. Ukraine has suffered so badly at the hands of Russians that they’ve been completely removed from their homes and have been replaced with Russians and you want to act as if those are Ukrainians? No, those people didn’t just die for nothing and they shouldn’t be forgotten. This is what Russia has done in many of the eastern parts of Europe to inject their influence into countries and increase their sphere of influence.

As an American I’m actually astounded by the pride that we have, we genuinely think the world revolves around our country so much so that we now want to say Ukraine is our “fault” when Ukrainians have been oppressed before our country even existed and well before the fall of the Soviet Union. I’m all for giving the people what they want but the Ukrainian people have spoken and it’s not Russia or their rule. We can ask any former combloc country if they want Russia in control of them and how the occupation of their countries went, the overwhelming answer will always be NO except for Belarus which is a Russian puppet state. For those who ignore parts of history learn about the eastern front and see how Hitler fumbled the ball so badly that communism took over a massive part of Europe, this was not a good thing. Do we as Americans actually forget the Cold War that went from the end of ww2 to 1991? Are we really to pretend Russia is some “good” country although we were lat war with them? Ukraine finally gets enough freedom to break away and get rid of the puppet regime they had to live under which caused the war in 2014 and you think you have the right to tell them they shouldn’t fight? Really? Sounds like Americans should’ve just stayed as Britain then, after all this was their territory. Your thoughts in regard to sovereignty are inherently un-American and it’s shameful.

That's a relevant topic even nowadays. People blatantly shouting Russia to back off don't understand true depth of the crisis. It was a combination of many negative factors and it has to be solved through complex coordination that we can't reach right now. I wish it ended as soon as possible.
