Any diversity in Iceland?🇮🇸 🎉😊
ОтветитьDo you know if they accept wise card?
ОтветитьI don't think anyone except Americans is surprised about not having to Tip..
ОтветитьOn the 'babies alone in their strollers' thing: Why are Americans so convinced that children being abducted by strangers is a thing that happens often enough to worry about?
ОтветитьThe tax free has gone up from 6000 to 12000kr. This was what I was told the last time asked for a tax receipt. Also, make sure your credit card doesn’t charge international purchase fees!
ОтветитьSo this credit card PIN situation is making my stomach hurt. I called my travel credit card company & they said under no circumstances (unless an emergency) should you use the PIN function with you credit card because the cc company views it as a cash advance & charge ridiculous fees. The rep I spoke with said she had heard that using 0000 will work as a PIN on credit cards. Anyone with experience with this? I asked my other credit card company & their response was the same-it will be viewed as a cash advance with steep fees. Thanks in advance!
ОтветитьI enjoyed watching this great video 👍❤❤❤❤
Ответитьa very good helpful video
ОтветитьHi There, please make an updated video according to the current situation and conditions?
ОтветитьI Love Jonna Napire 💜💚♥️
APRIL 19, 2024
My husband and I are taking our honeymoon to Iceland later this year and your videos have been soooo helpful !
Is there somewhere once you are in Iceland to put your money on a card with a pin?
First tip is about using depressants...in Iceland...wow
ОтветитьDo you have to use a pin? My credit card told me using pin means cash advance and lots of interest
ОтветитьHow about crime. Like shop lifting,it is a big problem here in California ,(USA) and owning a fire arm (gun) are these items allowed in Iceland?
ОтветитьMy husband and I were in Iceland in the mid '70's while he was stationed there with the Navy. I don't know if this is true but we were told that the crime rate in Iceland was so low that they only had one jail cell and that there was a short waiting list of people waiting for their turn. 😂
ОтветитьNo, Europeans are not used to tipping. It's just the USA.
Ответить739pm can I get a guide please
ОтветитьTalk about stretching out nothing.
ОтветитьBTW Tax refund (maybe not in Island) is usually 2-phase, one before the security and one after security check....
ОтветитьProper wages -> no need to tip
Ответить20 years to by alcohol, but 18 to by tobaco? That just sounds so weird
ОтветитьYou have to pay for public bathrooms? God bless America
ОтветитьExcellent video!! thanks! May I also suggest a money related tip for Iceland. While you can use your card for many things, I still landed up needing some cash... ATMs had varied fees and withdrawal limits so I landed up using this ATM Fee Saver mobile app - it gave me a list of ATMs with lower-fee ATMs in Iceland along with the ones that had higher withdrawal limits. Will help those travelling to Iceland!!
ОтветитьThey don't really take Discover according to people I know there. I have some Krónur, but they are old. I just keep gathering currency when I come across it.
ОтветитьI will live in Iceland after I make over 5 thousand dollars a month
ОтветитьSo appreciated!!!
Ответитьyeah, lots of surprises there. i found out as a tourist polish is a lot more helpful than icelandic. the tourist activity seems almost completely separate from the ordinary goings-on of the icelandic people. it was a surprise to me. the workers in the tourist industry are rarely icelandic; they are usually foreign, most often polish. not sure how it is now.
ОтветитьGreetings Jeannie. Great Podcast. Well presented. I do plan to visit Iceland soon as I've come across a few podcast on Iceland and very much sold on this beautiful country. I am from Malaysia, retired. Do have a bit of time on my hands, GOD willing. Also tqvm for the check list. Invaluable. Bye for now!
ОтветитьNo visa to enter Iceland
ОтветитьI'm assuming there is no duty free outside the airport, I don't feel like dragging along souvenirs with me for 1-2 weeks throughout my trip.
ОтветитьThank you for your tips!
ОтветитьI did not know about the value added tax. Thank you!
ОтветитьYou don't have to tip ... but it is not forbidden
ОтветитьGreat video. Thanks for the info.
ОтветитьReally sad to see the US so far behind in chip and pin card use. The system is so prone to fraud when neither pin nor signature is used, and frankly, the signature is so 20th century.
ОтветитьYou chatted about buying alcohol but did you mean to enjoy in your room or can you carry to a restaurant ?
ОтветитьVisited Iceland last July. Amazing place. Never felt unsafe due to Icelanders. You can certainly put yourself in some unsafe conditions while hiking/exploring the outdoors! Be smart about that and enjoy one of the most amazing places on Earth. And English is widely spoken in Iceland. The only language “barriers” we experienced is when we asked , “How do you say that in Icelandic?” And immediately regretted the question!! 😂
ОтветитьThanks for the tips! I plan on studying abroad in Reykjavik in 2025/2026 (engineering mind; I plan waaay ahead lol). Can you give any suggestions for a PIN card for a student (American)? Thanks in advance!
ОтветитьI was in Iceland w a 17 hr layover in June. Found an affordable guest house w breakfast. Next day the rainy weather changed my outdoor plans. Visited the National Museum of Iceland for a few hours. Then walked to the bus terminal. Everyone spoke English and were super nice and helpful. I plan to make a real visit next time.
ОтветитьQuestion! Usually with my credit card I don't use my pin but I also don't sign - I usually hit the green button thereby bypassing the pin and running it as credit - is a credit card ok for use in that way in iceland?
ОтветитьAn interesting note: In the US, if you eliminate certain cities with particular politics and demographics (Chicage, Oakland, Baltimore, DC, New Orleans, etc.), we are near the top of the list of safest countries in the world. Watch where you go, and you couldn't be safer, except perhaps at a police convention.
ОтветитьIs it easy to find job and live in Iceland? Is the living expensive ?
ОтветитьSpeaking English is not "meeting somewhere in the middle" Speaking a third language, like German for example, would be meeting in the middle.
ОтветитьHow is it for disabled accessibility?
ОтветитьDon’t take out too much cash….you cannot exchange it at a monex type exchange place in the USA. The Icelandic currency is volitale, and hard to exchange back to US dollars…..I got stuck with about 200.00 worth of currency I could not get rid of…even at major banks.
ОтветитьÞakka þér kærlega fyrir. Aftur, þú gerðir frábært myndband. Segðu fólkinu hvers vegna það eru ekki mörg tré á Íslandi. Af hverju gróðursetja þeir ekki skóga?
ОтветитьWhy did you move to Iceland?
ОтветитьJeannie, don’t you feel isolated? There are more people in my Brooklyn neighborhood than all of Iceland.
ОтветитьI read that the number of people who can speak, read and write English is right at 100%, while Icelandic is slightly less than that because some immigrants have never mastered Icelandic, which I understand is not an easy language to learn. Don't know if this is actually true, but maybe someone from Iceland can confirm this or shoot it down. If it is true, then this is another example of a way Iceland is unique in the world.
