12 Infotainment System Winners and Losers: The Short List

ACCESS Europe and Mediatek teaming up is a brilliant move. Integrated chipsets, a car-centric app store – this partnership promises an innovative leap for in-car tech.

Hearing about some new development about the infotainment system with the joint collaboration of ACCESS and mediatek introducing twine4car system for the automobiles.

I don’t want an infotainment system. I can just use my phone for all that and it looks extremely repulsive and ugly on some models. It’d be nice if I could just get a car with a normal CD player still.

I wish all the automakers would just give up and use Android Automotive

Just used the Uconnect in a 2021 Dodge Durango as a rental. It was easy and simple to use, but the navigation was absolutely useless. Out of date, routing like mad because it didn't know there was a turn 3 miles back. Only helpful part of it was flagging speed cameras since I was driving in km/h instead of mph.

I hate the new tablet style screens to the fkn moon and back. The New Accord has one of these gaudy looking monstrosities I'll Stick to my 2018 thanx

Fords infotainment system is ugly AF. I love my UConnect system. The theatre feature for passengers is flawless.

I love everything about the Audis system, it’s so well thought out and easy to use. Also, it looks really cool!

Honda's 4 and 4.1 gen seen in the accord and 2022 civic is not great in terms of audio. It's nice in setup but audio to source all cars but accord you have to go to home and find in apps. Then FM AM, & XM just give for of six pre set Channels on three screens not six on two.

Two rules for a good infotainment system:

1) I don’t need to touch my phone to input anything whether it being destination or selecting a particular song, everything can be done on the infotainment itself.
2) If you can’t do 1), give me a high resolution, smooth screen for stable wireless CarPlay
Unfortunately in NA there is very few player offering that.

BMW's iDrive is state of the art, go watch other videos. playerhaters...

The new lexusinfotainment system like in the 2020/2021 rx is a lot better it is now a touchscreen and has carplay/android auto

What about Mercedes or Jaguar? I think they took a turn for the better in 2019 but were pretty much stuck in the past till then.

Ford solution is so far behind the other, I don't understand how it can be judge good... It was buggy, slow and really painful to use!

Mazda, it's not special. But super easy to use.

I honestly like Toyota and BMWs, and Subaru’s. The buttons are large and easy to use. The BMW One gives you the option of both touch or wheel navigation. Nissan one is actually nice too once you use it. It’s a clean UI.

I have an Acura MDX and the infotainment system on that car is so bad. I'm not even complaining because of the typical over complicated stuff or anything, but the system is just so laggy it's a burden to use. Sound is always delayed by 3 seconds than what it should be and the system freezes up on me all the time.

My 12" screen on my Ram limited is beast

First off the volvo sensus connect is a great system! Second the button you were pushing it shows up on the HUD. So stop spreading false news or else we will have to call you the next Donald Trump!

Yes. Losers are definitely Toyota/Lexus. I would add chevy mylink as well. But one the worst looking system i think is Mazda connect.

I was really disappointed to not have the Acura RDX 2018 with many great reviews by third parties not discussed. Let alone the pricing is so much for the money! If I missed it, by all means my apologies. Happy New Years!

Every single infotainment from lexury to economy cars pales miserably compare to your iPhones or galaxy phone.

Test drove the new Lincoln Navigator... compared to all these, that one is miles advanced and intuitive! I do like Porches' and I think the U Connect on Challenger's and Jeep Grand Cherokee's have the best/easiest layouts and UI

in this video, when speak about chevrolet my link, the video most, the old generation, the new my link, of 7 inch is korean too, (byom 2), lg is the company, for my opinion, is very basic, no have mirrorlink, and functionality is only control of function the car, but no have, information about enterteniment, work over linux, qnx, this sistem equipament all line, of car in latin american, onix, prisma, cobalt, spin, tracker, cruze, and malibu, beat. what are you oppinion about this system? thank.

No mention of Honda infotainment systems. Maybe because they’re boring and only 4 vehicles (Accord, Odyssey, Pilot, and 2019 Insight) have the updated software. The remaining vehicles have the outdated system with the Ridgeline and Clarity having the oldest.

iDrive is lovely, imho. That said, it used to be terrible
