hey epos!
What's the lowest bitrate you've tried on the intel encoder for AV1? Like local file encoding
I bought a Intel 770 just to encode av1. To get a vmaf around 98 I encode at 22q on handbrake and a typical blu is ready in under 10 mins. About 265fps. Blown away by how useful it is for my media server.

ОтветитьI'm on X299 i9-10900X w/o iGPU but nVidia 2080-Ti. Can I use this to assist in Adobe like others using their Intel iGPU? Looking at the A750
ОтветитьIntel claims its hyper encode tech uses the encode engine on both the igpu and the dgpu for better fps in video encoding. Can you test for that?
ОтветитьI am watching this in AV1 on my AMD GPU
ОтветитьAv1 vs h264 is very easy. Look to new comparative from tomshardware all avc, hevc and av1 from gpus generations. Hevc is much better in intel vs av1 intel. Amd continues poor. Sad for not saw this comparative here.
ОтветитьWhat about Arc A310? Av1 steel work also good?
ОтветитьDamn man are you using a 1/1 Promist filter? Your vid looks like an 80's soap opera. Otherwise solid content!
ОтветитьSuper enlightening, didn’t understand why av1 was so important before. Thank you! Gonna have to try out the intel 🎉
ОтветитьDo you have any guide for 12th / 13th-gen Intel QSV OBS settings to achieve the quality shown here where it beats NVENC?
ОтветитьNice comparison but why didn't you include H265 in there?
ОтветитьI have a 3080 Fe GPU and a Elgato mk.2 Capture card would this intel arc encode for my capture. So my Gpu would only be used for gaming ?
ОтветитьNow that we have AV1 support on Plex I'm planning to convert all my media to AV1. I know most devices dont have dont have AV1 decode and I've done my own testing and its fine for me as my Plex server can handle decoding for multiple streams. That being said is it possible to have and use more then one AV1 encoding GPU to transcode faster or will most software only be able to use one card at a time? Would like to repurpose one of my computers to just render everything I have to AV1.
ОтветитьHow about 2 pass software encoding? X264 2 pass vs Intel Arc Av1 Hardware encoding.
ОтветитьYour t-shirt is telling me you are maybe NOT totally unbiased here.
ОтветитьHi, can you share how do you perform these benchmarks? I want to do the same, but for H264
ОтветитьArc a770 owner here 😁
ОтветитьThanks for all this, it's appreciated!
ОтветитьThis would be a big relief to Australian livestreamers (especially since NBN internet quality is garbage for livestreaming)
ОтветитьI've been encoding and editing my videos in 4k in Davinci Resolve. Is there a work flow that makes the process faster because I have an older 1080ti nvenc, sometimes a 4k video takes like 60 minutes to encode to h.265
ОтветитьI really hope that we have dedicated PCIe AV1 cards since I don't really see the need to upgrade from 6900 XT for gaming
Ответитьsynth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ОтветитьIntel Nvidia and amd also provide codecs for the consumer and not for the streamer? to enjoy a better visual quality and not to strain, always make videos on encoders, but is there something different between amd intel and nvidia talking about decoders and decompression?
Ответитьdo these codecs, like Intel AV1 improve the visual quality also in decompression or only in compression?
Ответитьhello, a question, but do these data also represent the quality that the consumer sees? Or just those who stream and are interested in bringing better quality to the platform?
Ответитьsaw this as av1 on my phone. superb!
Ответитьgood video, have you advice to setup AV1 in recording with geforce experience settings?
Ответитьrtx 3000 series has to av1
Ответитьgot an a380 today, obs does not want to support it it seems...
ОтветитьCan you use NDI (non-HX) in a 2-PC gaming setup with a dedicated Intel GPU in the Streaming PC to encode with AV-1?
ОтветитьWhen are we gonna be able to use av1 on AMD cards and twitch ?
ОтветитьWhich CPU was used for the SVT Encoder? When will Twitch and OBS support both: AV1 Hardware- and CPU-Encoding?
ОтветитьEvery decade has its bad fashion, 2020's has the dandruff shirt.
Ответитьi have arc a380 and i cant encode to av1 in handbrake 😥
Ответитьhow many simultaneous stream with intel arc av1
Ответитьcan a380 gpu do QSV 264 encoding ?
ОтветитьAV1 is great , but most of the phones don't have hardware decoder for it ( especialy non Snapdragon ones ) so expect people ignore it a while since it will turn theyr phone into a furnace while decodeing
ОтветитьI still have AV1 disabled. I don't like the higher CPU load (and use a GTX 1070) and many early AV1 encodes look ridiculously bad, much worse than the VP9 or even H.264 stream (switch via browser extension)
ОтветитьNot sure if this is a ridiculous thought: I know that resizable bar is pretty important for gaming performance on the Arc GPUs. But, I'm really curious to know what the impact is, between having it on or off, when it comes to the workload side of things. Whether it be streaming, video editing, etc. I'd be very interested in grabbing an Arc card for my secondary/streaming-and-recording PC. As, that has an R7 2700x and an R9 280 running Debian 11. I currently use x264 medium for 720p/60 @ 6000kpbs for uploading to Twitch. 1080p/30 @20,000kbps for recording tutorials I'm working on. Which, runs fine for what it is. But, I'm always interested in ways to improve. Also, while I wait for streaming services to add AV1 support, I could still play around with QuickSync for streaming and recording. Perhaps, AV1 for recording, too. (I'm open to (and have previously done) tinkering with things like recompiling ffmpeg to add features). I know the Arc cards are only supported on kernels 6.0 and higher. But, I can get that by using a Liquorix/Zen kernel, or just installing 6.0+ myself, whatever the distro may be. But, having a 2700x, I won't have "ReBar"/SAM available, even though the motherboard supports it. So, I would love to know how much that would affect things like encoding (QuickSync or AV1) on OBS for both streaming and recording. I'm also curious how much of a difference it would be to add one of these cards for DaVinci Resolve on my main computer. As, I currently have an RX 6800 and an R7 3700x in that. Which, does what I need it to do. But, if I could get a performance bump and/or access to more codec options for $130-ish, it would be worth looking into. (I know, Nvidia is a significantly better choice for workloads. But, I adore how AMD cards run on Linux, overall). I do dual-boot Windows for things that are problematic on Linux. So, if I need to, I can work on some things over there, as well.
ОтветитьBut how many av1 encoding streams are available? NVENC can do 3 out of the box, and unlocked drivers opening up even more streams on high end gpus.
ОтветитьWatching this video in AV1 🙂. Wish Intel had gotten their latest gen out a few months earlier.. probably would have snatched one up. Would have been great in all the games I play compared to my old GTX 980ti lol. I love adopting tech early.
ОтветитьWhat about an just encoding slave machine? does it make sense over an nvidia one?
ОтветитьWell they have released them and you get not 1 but 2 AV1 encoder-decoders. I checked your channel hoping to see them preform 😉
ОтветитьAny idea how HW AV1 compares to x265 slow for storage purposes?
ОтветитьOh great Apple pretty much forced everybody into HEIF and now it's gonna be an abandoned format now that all those photos are in that annoying format that nothing supported.
ОтветитьI still dont really get it. So lets say in my single pc i have a nvidia gpu and a intel gpu. is the intel gpu is the one thats going to be doing all the work while you streaming? meaning it wont use the cpu or you main nvidia gpu at all?
Ответить
