“…we all got our toes out too!”
You forgot that part big boy
He said himself that Baudelaire comes from Lemony Snickets Series of Unfortunate Events
Ответитьtyler said he don’t even know who charles baudelare is 😭😭
Ответитьbruh the persona would be french, not Italian :')
ОтветитьThe card is not paying homage to odb. It's based on an old passport from the 1920's

* Call Me If Get You Get Lost*
Igor Trilogy
CHERRY BOMB
FLOWER BOY
IGOR
CMIYGL
I listened to call me if you get lost when it first released back in 2021, i was 17 years old at the time listening to it on a long bus ride. The entire theme of travel definitely stuck out me (as i was literally traveling when first listening to it), but as I’ve matured, gone through puberty, and found a bit more confidence, each time i listen the lyrics ring more and more true; it feels like he has captured this special feeling of growing through pure experience. Truly a timeless album and im so proud of Tyler for getting to this point.
ОтветитьMy god these comments suck, just uncreative people projecting their lack of imagination and passion on artists
ОтветитьSir Baudelaire.
Ответитьam i the only person who is terribly distracted by DJ drama's presence in the album? i really love everything else and would probably rate this 2nd only to flower boy because of sentimentality. but with all the drama i would put it after igor
ОтветитьCharles Baudelaire is one the most influential writers of the modernist era. Rising to prominence in 19th century Paris, he is most commonly associated with coining the concept of the 'flaneur' – the lonely wanderer who roamed the streets of modernist Paris in search of artistic inspiration.
But the Lemony Snickets theories are entertaining
ODB wasn’t an ID card it was an EbT card for food benefits
ОтветитьI didn't click with this album for a while and only recently, just before he released the estate sale I started listening again to give it another shot and next thing I know, I can't stop listening to the album, especially with the new tracks! One of my favourite things about Tyler's albums is that he has such cohesion with the style and theme of his albums. When you listen to the whole album in order, you can appreciate the transitions between songs and it's so rewarding. With some other artists, their albums just feel like a bunch of disconnected songs together in one album. Tyler is so God damn talented and I feel honoured to witness his rise. Speaking of rising up, that's one of my favourite songs of the album lol
ОтветитьI just presumed it was a reference to A Series Of Unfortunate Events.
Ответитьokanma🤦🏾♂️ its said like a-coma
ОтветитьDawg you sound like such a P___Y
ОтветитьThis is probably one of my favourite albums by Tyler. LUMBERJACK is my favourite song from the album
ОтветитьAt first I really didn't like call me if you get lost but after listening to it agian it's now one of my favorite albums
Ответитьthis was really well made
ОтветитьMassa is my favorite on the album. CMIYGL is his best album IMO
ОтветитьAfter a year of listening I’d rank it third in his discography. It’s defo amazing and in terms of pure rapping it’s probably his best however I don’t find it enjoyable all the way through with songs like run it up and rise! Taking a while to get good and I prefer the second half of sweet/I thought you wanted to dance a lot more then the first as well the fact the albums concept doesn’t feel as refined as Igor or flower boy, still some of his best songs to date with wusyaname, corso and hot wind blows where Wayne absolutely spazzes.
Ответитьhis bubble is inspired by an old frank ocean song
where he relates L.A. with being inside of its own bubble.
I laugh if none of the albums were actually a story like yall think it is
Ответить☆Wake Up~JESUS THE KING will return‼🤍of men are cold in the last days 🖤turn now,for What is the deal if you gain the whole world but still lose your own soul 💉🧬💯☠God will judge the world.Repent‼just like in the days of Noah ...

ОтветитьI never liked a full Tyler album before this one, I only ever liked 3 songs max on his last ones and preferred his edgy songs more. But this album is my favorite from him and is one of my top 10 favorite albums now. But when I saw the album art and heard the Baudelaire name I instantly thought of the kids books “A Series of Unfortunate Event” because that’s the last name. So interesting to see it’s a reference to a real person. Album 10/10 tho
ОтветитьTyler tweeted saying the CMIYFL album cover had nothing to do with the ODB album cover.
ОтветитьKinda had my own perception on it but lmaoi
Ответитьgreat breakdown. I'm barley getting off of Igor. I've been on Igor since it came out, but it wasn't until last year, I was fresh out of a breakup I listened to it heavy. However, it wasn't until this past January I was actually living the album. I had a crush on a new person but they ended up not choosing me. It was then I UNDERSTOOD and felt Igor. Now I am entering a new season. Mizz Baudelaire.

Baudelaire is also from the book: a series of unfortunate events
ОтветитьTyler Okonma (O-Coma)
Ответитьcmiygl tracklist rank:
1. wasyaname
- only bc this was the first song I heard from the album and I loved it, which was new for me. in the past, I was never a HUGE Tyler fan like everyone else was/still is.
2. sweet/I thought you wanted to dance
- I love the whole song, BUT I thought you wanted to dance (imo) really complimented Tyler's voice + aesthetic. also the lines "I wish that we had better timing, I'll save a dance just for you. so don't forget about me." really stuck with me because of what I was/still am going through atm.
3. juggernaut
- I really just loved this song because I'm big Uzi fan and I really like it when artists create music with Pharrell. They all three just really brought together the filthiest of songs (again imo)
4. safari
this is a safariiii - I love this song. the "yeah, it's me. you didn't think I was gonna be here?" vibe of the song was a really good choice on concluding the album just so. HUGE HONORABLE MENTION the line where her said "only 29 but I been focused since 30 M" best outro ever.(also past Viner JAY VERSACE produced this song, I was amazed.)
5. corso
- for starters, "I been talking that fresh shit I don't need gum. cookie crumbs in the Rolls, never no weed crumbs", FIRE ASS FIRST LINE. and " I might buy a boat, depends if capri got space." omggg I can just name lines upon lines expressing how fire this whole song is. def had to be in the top five.
6. massa
- in the end, massa took the 6th spot because the beginning of the song really reminded me of new magic wand with the " EE EE". I just really loved that part. notable line: "I got too much self respect, I wash m y hands fore I piss" what a line, man.
7. hot wind blows
- "driver open the door for me, my hand hurts. Find us. we playing hid and seek with the passports." I really love this song for it's essence of travel. I remember Tyler said in an interview where he was asked how did he become who he was today and his answer was: "just traveling". and this song really showcases his love for the outdoors in general.
8. sir baudelaire
9. runitup
- this song TRULY embodies the vibe of "I'm up and y'all are mad now." it also showcases his mindset on his way to stardom and now he's more than just a music artist, he's also now a musical legend.
10. lemonhead
- "I don't lean but my house do, off the hill with the mean view" I listen to this song whenever I feel l'm unstoppable. and the "running his fingers through the Ai Weiwei, Ai VeiVei bowl" this whole song is the epitome of "I'm rich"
11. manifesto
- I didn't want to put it too low because the beginning amused me. I truly admire Tyler's sense of humor and his sense of creativity
12. lumberjack
13. momma talk
14. rise
- these two get the 13th and 14th spots because, once again, I love the "I made it and all of y'all doubted me" vibe. especially having momma talk as the song before and having her sampled in rise. I love the mother/son dynamic.
15. blessed
- "I might but a bike track and a zipline at the other other crib" I love the corso reference.
16. Wilshire
- I hate to put this song so low because his storytelling is wonderful in this song. I only say this spot because it's not the kind of song that I would play daily.
I'd give it a solid B or an 8/10
Igor (10/10)
FlowerBoy (10/10)
Cherry Bomb (4/10)
Wolf (9/10)
Goblin (6/10)
Bastard (7/10)
Him: Bold ah lear
Me: blonde ah lire
i think tyler baudelaire is wolf haley under a different persona, more matured, and more. i belive that instead of TYLER killing everyone i think WOLF killed everyone in Sam is Dead. i think he took over, matured over all these years, and is back in cmiygl
ОтветитьI recently discovered that Pharrell’s mixtape with DJ Drama, In My Mind Prelude was the inspiration to CMIYGL. I thought it’s noteworthy to mention as it serves as the oil, lard, or butter of the album where Tyler can toss in all the ingredients of ideas and inspiration to cook himself an album of the year.
ОтветитьI think this connects to flower boy, cherry bomb(maybe) and Igor.
Like cherry bomb is him still being like in denial of himself, just trying to rock out yk.
Flower boy is him figuring out who he is and coming to terms with his sexuality
And then Igor and call me if you get lost are his two takes on who he would be if he feel for the girl or the guy in this relationship he aspires to have. (Igor being him getting rejected by the guy and CMIYGL being the girl turning him down)
And personally my rankings are in order:
Bastard (I’ve only heard snippets so I can’t put it any higher)
Wolf
Cherry bomb
Flower boy
Call me if you get lost
Goblin (I like the deluxe better)
Igor
tyler lore
ОтветитьGreat vid, dude. As a long time Tyler fan since the Goblin/OFWGKTA/Loiter Squad days, I can say with confidence that there has not been a more relatable and inspirational collection of music that has come from Tyler than this most recent one. Of course, everything that preceded CMIYGL built the foundation for the magnitude of the record to be what it was, but this really showcases Tyler's prominence as an artist in a comprehensive way. He's not only become a beautiful lyricist, but also producer and person. It's truly an honor to live in a time where we can witness this growth.
ОтветитьThis a fire vid bro. good job
