‏الضيقُ والهمُّ والإملاقُ والألَمُ
‏اللهُ قدَّرها فاستُكتِبَ القلَمُ
(Tightness, worry, poverty and pain.)
(Allah is the one that ordained them and the pen was commanded to write.)

تجري على الناسِ أقدارٌ مُقدَّرةٌ
‏وليس ينجيكَ منها الجاهُ والخدَمُ
(The decree which has been decreed (by Allah) is implemented upon people.
Status or helpers can not make you escape it.)

فالصابرون لهمْ أجرٌ وتسليةٌ
‏ويلهجون بحمد الله لو عدِموا
(As for the patient ones their is reward and relaxation.
And they proclaim the praise of Allah even if they don't (make it through).)

والساخطون عليهم سخطهم أبدًا
‏فاتَ الثوابُ وجاءَ الحُزْنُ والندَمُ
(As for those who are dissatisfied, upon them is their dissatisfaction forever.
They (dissatisfied ones) deprived of reward and grief and regret came to them.)

‏فاقنعْ بما قدَّرَ الرحمنُ مصطَبِرًا
‏راضٍ وقلبكَ للأقدارِ مُبتسِمُ
(So be content with that which the Most Benevolent has decreed with patience.
Happily, whilst your heart smiles at the decree.)
