Edit to the milk yield income numbers for Holstein (Hay) 13-24 months £2300 per cow. 25-36 months £2300 👍
ОтветитьI am a absolutw newbie but i noticed that if you dont sell the cows and count the next three years you would get 50% more milk which is like 144k.
So it would be a lot less work to not sell them and you also make 80k more money?
Do they ever stop making milk?
I just use the use hay I make profit TMR is way to much work AUTO LOAD TMR @GIAINTS @MODDERS LMAO
ОтветитьHow are there 28k subs. 167 comments and only 9 likes?
ОтветитьIf you are not using mods (TMR silos) then the easiest way to have dairy cows is to just feed them hay and sacrifice some money for milk revenue.
Ответитьprofits much bigger on selling cows pay 300 take care of it for a while buy a bunch, sell for around 3k or more each cow not sure if aboe to sell for more but i have seen 3k.
Ответитьalso the thing that chops up straw for your bedd8ng why waste the money if you use a forge wagon.. fill beds with that.. save a step.
Ответитьunless you do it as your source of income, purchasing a trailer for 16k is more expensige than a 300 or so dollar fee even a few times over again... you would have to pay the fee many times over.. even leasing a trailer is a way better option if you go by a 300 dollar fee youd have to make that purchasw 50 or so times litteraly to pay more then the cost of a trailer. but in reality the trailers hold like no cows hardly at all 5 or 6 so theres also that unless you mod it.
ОтветитьVery good data, thanks for this.
ОтветитьInformative - yes!! I gave up on the mixing of the TMR and went to the Robot barn.
ОтветитьThis was very helpful thx! Gonna keep this noted down. Until I get into cows!
ОтветитьGreat video !
Very clear and helpful thank you
The perfect T. M. R . Mix, 30% Hay, straw. Silage,, add 10% minerals ,,& done !!! You don’t have to go overthinking it,, and hopefully your not,, because if you plan ahead of time,, you won’t have to,, so say for example,, your mixing wagon holds 22000 liters,, then if you planned ahead of feeding time,, you purchase a regular round bailer that can produce 6000 liter round bails,, just simply doing the math ,, tells me that it’s going to take appox. 1 bail of each ,, straw ,, hay ,, silage @. 6000 liters each to get my 90 % mixed ration,, and appox, 1/3 pallet of minerals to gain the other 10%,, personally,, I let my ration mix, for appox. 5 minutes prior to feeding,, but it’s not really required.😊 and another F.Y.I. Fact,, Dairy Cattle ,, are not going to be profitable until you are ready to run about 600 head,, it’s just not worth the money, time, or effort,, that it’s going to take to do daily operations until then,, So,, chickens 🐓 and Sheep 🐑 are the way to go until your willing to invest 4 million dollars into Dairy equipment and animals.
ОтветитьOn ps5 but Thanks New to Fs22
Ответитьdoes the same apply for beef farming or is there much difference profit wise and things like that? im planning on starting a beef farm
ОтветитьAny idea if grass has changed 9 months later? As in the vid you mention that grass might be bugged. Great vid, btw.
Ответитьwhat about what you use that open cow pasture for? you said you was going to go over it but never went back and explained. I'm assuming you use it for cattle rotation (I could be wrong) but curious how you go about it.
ОтветитьThe quickest TMR mix recipe! You really don't need straws it's just a filler, and the additive is just such a small amount it's unnecessary.... remember to check your bale sizes.
RECIPE:
SILAGE ROUND BALE
2 each. 150kg (5500L)
HAY ROUND BALE
1 each. 180kg (9000L)
=20,000L TMR
Thing with a grass is not a bug. You need effectiveness high enough for breeding and for milk. Grass is only 40%. But will it stack like for every other animal ? Like can it go over 100% ? Would be 220% for productivity if you give them everything they need.
E: Doesnt go over 100%, but bedding straw is needed for max milk income and for manure. Even though grass+hay is 120%, TMR is still better (more milk, slurry and manure).
They’ll probably patch the part when you said the cows gain their value up to $600 without feeding them
ОтветитьSo I’m between 24 and 36 months the values of the cow doesn’t go up am I right just trying to make sure
Ответить999,999,999 eh? I don't have enough 9's I guess.
ОтветитьThanks again :) i allways roll back to this when i need info :)
ОтветитьGreat video I find it odd that you can't feed cows silage
ОтветитьGood vid and info. I'm gonna do the same thing with rotating them out at 36 months.
Ответитьi cant for the life of me figure out how to get milk in a tanker / trailer
ОтветитьThanks for an excellent analysis! I was curious about the cost differential between the TMR and the Hay Only options for feed, and I saw that someone answered this indicating that because silage is cheaper to produce than hay, that the TMR would likely be a cheaper food option as well. I have subscribed and look forward to checking out more of your videos.
ОтветитьThank you Schrift, very informative. New subscriber here.
ОтветитьGreat channel and a very nice job on the info. You have a new sub! Thanks and again great job.
ОтветитьWhy do you the silo extensions manure pit and not the other one?
ОтветитьI wish i could like this video a 1000 times, such great info and time you took to do this video. Great great work buddy. THANK YOU!
ОтветитьHey buddy! I was wondering if you have that spreadsheet available for download anywhere, I can barely see it on my phone, maybe I should try it on my TV lol
ОтветитьI think a viable strategy would be 2 or 3 barns. One with 40 breeding cattle eating TMR and the other barns with just hay growing the cattle out to 24 months for maximum sell price to simulate the steer barns that many dairy farmers have to get rid of the bull calves.
The reason why I suggest hay only on the grow out barns is you can start out with the cheap barn without the robot but as taking care of the dairy cattle gets tiresome you can then buy the robot one to move your breeding stock into and just fill troughs and stop having to mix feed.
do the cows produce more milk if they have straw, or is it only to get manure?
Ответитьgreat work!
but wouldn't it be better to sell all the cows at age 36 an buy instant new one with a age of 12 months? you would have instant milk production, no need of a second pen and all 2 years a nice income of ~ 10.000 (minus some fees for selling and buying the cows)
Why is silage not in this test? How does feeding silage affect the cows?
ОтветитьGreat video. What field have you placed your farm on? Many thanks
Ответитьso we can't just give em silage like in 19 huh
ОтветитьI guess im a dairy farmer now
ОтветитьYour videos are superbly informative and well researched. Keep it up!
ОтветитьAm I doing something wrong when my dairy cows don't produce milk at all? I use hay and they are 25 months old now and not a single drop of milk. PLEASE HELP!!!
ОтветитьTime to start selling cheese!!!!
ОтветитьI recently bought the game and this was a major help! Just making sure, but your tests were run on a 1 day month right?
ОтветитьI'm curious on what the cost to produce the TMR vs Hay for the 36 months is and how that effects the profit per cow or 50 cow. Is it possible that with the increased production components for TMR it is close to being better to just feed hay?
ОтветитьI would actually switch between cheese and butter from year to year to not destroy the prices in the long run.
Ответить@Scroft which pasture mod are you using.?
ОтветитьYour content has helped tons! Thank you for being so detailed. Easy to follow guides for sure
ОтветитьJust a quick question, do you maybe know if the mineral feed does anything extra? Like a bit more milk production or is it for now purely "decorative"?
ОтветитьWill you get slurry and manure with straw down?
Ответить
