lastpass is useless

aes256 is not the most secure encryption algorithm. it's just one of the easier ones to use and it has hardware support.

none of them are best they cost and they read your typed password to give you result is it weak. nothing is saved or spyed they just got your password LOL

I'm still surprised that people are recommending LastPass. LastPass doesn't support the U2F protocol which is designed to prevent phishing attacks and LastPass have no intention of supporting U2F.

Any password manager where I can have custom templates ( for example I want to store bank details but the default bank details template are not suitable for my country )

i love the video quality but what i find annoying is how what is industry standards are shown as cutting edge. i also find that the types of encryption are shown but it doesnt help any average video consumer because most people have no clue what it means. for example, during the nordpass segment, talking about them using xchacha20 instead aes26 instead of the advantages of each helps almost nobody. at least mentioning speed and it not needing hardware support would have been great.
edit: you should also mention downsides of features such as emergency access

NEVER USE A CLOUD BASED SYSTEM ! So many websites and security site have been hacked recently, with more to come. Many, if not all password managers that are cloud base have very poor security practices. Remember those sites that offer biometrics should never be use and to explain as to why, one could write volumes.

This video seems to push paid services and comes across as a infomercial. My suggestion for all that it may be worth is "KeePassCX". This is free and is updated constantly. Your information is store locally and encrypted on your system, where as cloud based storage is the holy grail for hackers. If the cloud base systems were hacked, it is very unlikely that you the end user will be notified until it is too late.

I personally use a password manager in conjunction with the Crypto Trust Onlykey. I tried the Yubikey but found it to be useless and a waste of money for my security needs. I backup up the encrypted password database onto a USB drive and store it along with a printed copy, which I store in a safe.

After doing much research into password security, I strongly recommend a password manager as this will allow the usage of much stronger passwords but in all honesty there is a small time curve to get use to doing things a little different from past practices; this will be for any and all password managers.

This video glosses over the pit falls of the reccomend password managers mentioned here and strives to give a false sense of security. Do your research and choose the one best for you.

Dashlane is terrible. Gets worse all the time. I sometimes cannot even update my billing information on sites because Dashlane is so dysfunctional. They are doing way too little testing. No meaningful customer support.

I've used the free version for years, however, 5 days ago my password all of a sudden stopped working + I've been separated from all my passwords ever since, 5 days!!!!!
Support? The online site is like a fairground attraction, nothing works, you can't submit anything, it's a total insult. I received an email, in response to my contacting them, a couple of days ago +..................
I'm still locked out of my LastPass a/c, what else can I tell you???
Avoid LastPass like the plague, they can't be trusted, they've totally betrayed my trust + continue to use it against me.
So, nearly 6 days I've been separated from all the data I trusted LastPass with, don't make the same mistake that I did, LastPass don't deserve your trust.
And that is the truth, every word I've said.

Sticky Password provides a lifetime membership and is encrypted with a 256-bit AES cypher. Still, I have to admit that its drawback is that it doesn't have dark web surveillance. Yet, for me, this does not matter due to surfsharkvpn has dark web monitoring. So there's no way you can go wrong with a sticky password.

My requirements for good password manager:
- Keeps my passwords safe
- Helps generate secure passwords
- Inserts passwords into legit websites
- Syncs my passwords accross multiple devices

What I do not need from a password manager:
- To provide cloud storage
- To provide VPN
- To provide other bloatware

Then I would be willing to pay reasonable amount of money per year but definitely not $30 per year ... due to the above mentioned bloatware !!!

Can't I just write all passwords in a book? As long as I look after the book it's going to be safe. Does this online storage, make it more secure? I also have passwords in a book, and numbers that go with the individual passwords, in another. You need both to get into things. So I'm covered for remembering them. So what else do these password managers do? I just made an account with bit warden, an its not especially impressive. No instructions or info. Just looks like an online folder. Looks like more life wasted figuring more online bollocks.

What about SplashID?

I moved from LastPass to BitWarden 2 months ago even though I still have 6 months left on my yearly paid subscription. On BitWarden I opted out with the annual paid subscription to support them.

Whatever password manager you choose, it's best to salt it (leave a few characters for you to add on the password field). This way, even if your account got hacked, the hacker would still need to add the missing character(s) of your password.

What about Myki? Looks good, or am I missing something?
