I would always make it so I only have one demondrug and armorskin on me so that I can keep two slots for gathering. If I cart I just restock real quick since I'm already there. Not as necessary though with the palamute, it's a habit from prior entries

One thing to note is that demon drug and mega demon drug don’t stack so don’t drink a regular one and and then a mega version it’s just wasting the regular version (same with armor skin)

When you're bringing demondrug and armourskin only bring one. That way you'll gain back the gathering slots because if you do faint you can just go into the camp and restock your item loadout.

I know it is an old video, but why is no one talking about having both demondrug and mega demondrug, or armorskin and mega armorskin in your loadout? They do not stack, and doing so in the loadout effectively wastes 2 slots in your limited item pouch. If anything, use those 2 slots for materials to craft more traps, so that in case you still want to capture the monster after using the trap to create dps window, you can still do so without having to go back to camp.

Also, the tip about healing near the monster is sort of a bad advice. Monsters have different movesets depending on if you are near or far away (which is why you don't see monsters using melee attack when you are far away). If you stand near them, instead of doing the projectiles, they may just swipe at you, and if you are already low on health, that is just asking for cart. When you are far away, monsters projectiles are mostly travelling in a straight line and do not track, meaning dodging them is not that hard. Think Mangamalo's tail orbs or Nargacuga's tail spikes, all you need to do is walk sideways and those won't hit you. You don't even need to cancel the heal with a roll. For something faster like Rajang's beam, just roll to the side. If anything, the tip should be "keep your eye on the monster when you heal", since one of the most common reason for newbies to cart is that they are fiddling with the item bar looking for the potion and not paying attention to the monster preparing a charge or an attack.

While staying close to the monster while taking a pot can be safer, I'd still advise to, when in doubt, mount your palemute and run away to heal. There's monsters that can obliterate you - specially when enraged - if you stay running at a leasurely pace while chugging a pot. Zinogre, for example, or Rajang. They do have long distance attacks, but they have tells and are more or less easy to avoid; but they have A LOT of melee jukes and jabs that will get you killed while you're trying to get healed. Doing that near an enraged apex zinogre is basically suicide. Also, in MP, they are FAR more active and move much more, meaning you can get hit easily.

Other than that, solid tips.

They are not CCs
CC means crowd control you usually fight 1 monster at a time in monster hunter and stun lock it with varying abilities this is Status Chaining not Crowd Control.
Crowd control would be fighting 3+ small monsters at the same time and controlling all their actions simultaneously by distracting or possibly killing them.
Dont know how a term has gotten so muddy in monster hunter that people just straight up use it wrong

I know this is a sixth month old video, but regarding route planning: If you've brought a Palamute you can use the sniff out skill they made for it to tag any of the endemic life you can use. Then they'll just be displayed on your map without having to open the menus. Also, since you can use items while on your Palamute, you can hop onto it to heal or sharpen while moving faster.

I feel like I have gotten really good at Monster Hunter, and I can't believe I didn't think of dodging and healing rather than healing at a distance. Not only do I feel bad bailing on my teammates, but it can be so frustrating with monsters that are fast and sporadic constantly nailing you over and over. Thank you for your video.

For me when I do it correctly with the barrel bomb, when I press the button after the counter to do a true slash I hold it until they left their hands ups then I let go before they pull their hands back down to true slash to get extra damage.

I carry mega demondrug and armorskin, the nuts for both and powders (they stack).

I also have variations for sonics, poison, poison+blight, poison+ sonics (Chameleos), hellfire, webbing and my infinibomb loadout called " 'splosions!!!!!! "

One big trip, don't sleep on flash pods. Because they briefly stop the monster from targeting you, its a great opportunity to get off a heal, sharpen or buff, mostly safely.

To add to the Spiribirds tip: If you can't get the skill, learn where Spiribirds are on the map and create a route to take at the beginning of a hunt to collect some, not all. I can collect to max out HP and Stamina, if necessary, in each zone save the two new zones in Sunbreak (because they are so spread out and in random spots) in under 5 min leaving me 45 to complete the hunt.

As an extra tip to save supply space with your demon drug and armor skin save the load out with just 1x copy of each. After you drink it you have an extra slot instead of a 4x stack remaining

If you die you're already back at base again anyways and just load your set again to get another

I recently changed my buddies' weapons to paralysis and blast, and honestly, I don't think I could go back. Paralysis procs fairly frequently, due to the palamute silkbinder and attack speed scroll making him a machine gun for status, and the random blast procs work great in tandem with my partbreaker.

With loadouts it is better to have a main one but because you have so many slots for loadouts having some tailored for specific monster or weapon types is a better idea. For example Elder Dragons are immune to traps so have a loadout that doesn't include them when you go to fight an Elder Dragon. Also Dung Bombs are an amazing tool to use add to most loadouts whenever you want to avoid getting double-teamed by monsters.

1. I haven't been running demondrug and armordrug except on elder dragons. I'll start giving it a go.
2. Didn't know that Motely Mix did all that.
3. Have to stop running away to use potions. It is super dangerous .

Thanks for the tips.

Don't waste your rampage slot and an armor skill if you want fast spiribirds. Just use hopping skewers and the dango that boosts spiribirds. It doubles every spiribird you pick up, meaning you can easily max out just heading to the monster.

Ответить
@Buphido
@Buphido - 24.07.2022 13:33

Yes, being close to the monster while healing can be safer. But quite often, when you really need to heal you are in a chaotic situation. The monster might be mid combo, your item wheel might be on a different item which means you'd have to scroll for a while to reach your potions or your camera might be oriented poorly in a way that isn't necessarily fixed by retargeting and you just need to heal without having a clear picture of the situation. In those cases, gaining some distance is extremely useful because seeing a wider angle of the fight allows you to realign your position, ready your potions and dodge when necessary.
