We landed in similar conditions at Gatwick a few weeks ago. I'm sorry to say that the plane hit the ground like a ton of bricks on that occasion!

Nothing special. I worked at Gatwick and saw a number of sideways landings. Never in high winds though. Well done to the pilot. All but magic.

I was on a similar landing from Gran Canaria tto Bristol 6 years ago. We had to go around twice and landed like that the 3rd time

Why were there no sparks when the pilot's enormous brass balls touched down? Only because brass is a non-sparking metal.

That's how a true professional does it. It helped that the wind was constant and not gusty but as fine a landing under challenging conditions as any I've ever seen.

I can't even- what's going on here. Imagine going on a trip to the Bahamas or something and then your flight lands sideways- like- heck, if you can do this then land it verticaly 😂
