There were several chances for the King of England to be HRE, but they were turned down because it would have meant perpetual war with France, not good for the Empire. Also, Richard I had a chance to be forced into the ranks of the Electors of the HRE, but the other Electors didn’t want that because the Angevins would have been the most powerful Electors, again forever pissing of France.

guys please know that we have all did evil (sin) and we are punished to death and since we do evil and reject God we will go to hell but God lovingly provides a way out through Christ where we can be saved if we trust in Gods work on the cross and turn from our sins with regret, tell your sins to God as Christ makes it possible for us to be forgiven (read John 3:16 pls)

Otto's reign in Greece was shortlived, and only a couple decades later a new house was placed in Greece, which was also German, but unrelated to Otto's.

another brilliant and interesting clip - my only request is that the channel keep going with the English history video's thru the George 11 and onwards period. I consider your apolitical and objective presentation gives people the opportunity to learn new material and make our own decisions on what it all means. Once again - great work.

Spain had german ties as well... but tbh at some point they all married into each others family that they were all tied regardless...you possibly could trace it to a french family having influenced dozens of kingdoms as well 😂
