KDP niches is saturated, don’t ever try to waste you time establish ebook here, just matter of time your account will be closed or terminated, if you mistakenly written your ebook title similar to existing ebook title at KDP. Even worst after had published 100 of ebooks, everything is gone just matter of second. Even you already make so much efforts to follow KDP rules but as normal human you tent to make mistake. My advice is NO TO KDP. Don’t waste your time.

Oh phooey! You might as well as burn you ebook or book! Because if you're not in the top 4% forget! Go elsewhere!

Ok! You publish on kdp then what? You have no time to write because you're lost in how to get your one ebook noticed among four to six million other authors and people! Lots of luck! And forget trying to get help from kdp despite their promises to get back to to you in 24 hours! Don't hold your breath! Riches aren't going to be had at kdp! Nope! At least this hasn't been my experience! With 225 titles you'd think I'd have some sales! No! Kdp and Amazon had always been slippery in listing all my titles. I only found two recently! Nice! Two! Real nice!

Why bother! Your book will just get lost among the millions of other people!

Hi there, I am just wondering if you added page numbers and separate pages in MSW before uploading to KDP, or if KDP automatically does it for you (I did not hear a mention of that). Otherwise, great video.

Does kdp edit the story before publishing? Is that done in the proofing?

Great fast tutorial. Will have to look at more than once to take everything in. I'm wondering about the actual formatting you do on your word processor. Like, what size page, margins, paragraph style, numbering, etc. Also, how does it change when you add photos? (one of my books has over 500 photos). Does that make it expensive?

Thanks for the detailed video....Do you know how to add more images to the detail page? I have seen some paperback listings with 9 images but I don't see any provision on the KDP backend to upload listing images anywhere. Any help on that is much appreciated.

One more question. As for the Publishing Company. How is that determined when publishing on KDP? Is it assigned like the ISBN? Again thanks

KDP says only the person who owns the book and account can upload their books. Not a friend or anyone else because the accounts are private and we are not allowed to share any codes with anyone. If that's the case, then how can anyone ever help us with this part of self-publishing. We can pay for covers. We can pay for formatting, yet we can't pay for help in this final step / hurdle. So what can we do when not tech minded? There's talk of Author Services being able to do this, but how does that work in the light of KDP rules?

Very informative! I have a large science book nearing completion which will be my seventh. The first six were published by an author services company, but, of late, their prices for an ebook and softcover have gone way up. After finding out I could publish my books for free with Amazon, I am definitely interested in giving it a try and using the money I save for something else like maybe a new computer to replace the antique one I'm still using.

But, I have some questions that you did not cover in your excellent video.

1.) You say the author just "uploads his book". When I write a book, I make each chapter a separate .doc file. Can I upload my chapters one at a time or do I have to combine them into a single huge .doc file that contains all of the pages? Also, can I, after uploading a chapter or even the volume's entire text, then go back and insert several drawings into the chapters at the appropriate places? Or, must they be in place before I upload a chapter or the entire volume?

2.) Does Amazon's KDP automatically put the page numbers on the pages including the table of contents or do I have to do that?

3.) Does Amazon provide the author who publishes a soft cover book with a free copy of it or does he have to buy is own?

4.) What is the maximum number of pages that one can publish in a single softcover volume? My author services company puts a limit of 1,000 pages on a volume.

5.) Finally, how frequently does Amazon pay the author his royalties? My author services company pays royalties quarterly.

I self-published a poetry book on Amazon ten years ago, back then through Create Space, now KDP. Back then a friend (an angel!) basically did all the work for me. Creating the book file, formatting it, respecting all the rules like trim size, bleed size and so on. She did it all. That was what allowed me to publish my book. But if I wanted to publish a second book through KDP, I would not longer be able to count on her help, and this leaves me without options because the formatting, all the rules, they are overwhelming to me. They are like Latin to some (I happen to be good at Latin), and Chinese to me. Do you have any advice on how I can overcome these obstacles? Is it safe to hire someone to do it for me? Or could it actually be easier than I think? But I would have to find a video or file online that described step by step how to create and format the file I would then be able to submit to KDP. Is there any I can find? I'm sorry for all the questions, for bothering you. Thank you for your willingness to help with your tutorials. It does not solve my problem personally, but I'm sure it really helps other people. That's priceless.
