Before doing the sissy squat, please make sure that your knees are strong and flexible enough for that. You can very easily cause injury by doing that incorrectly.

From athlete perspective best are: barbbell squat(not smith machine), bulgarian split squats, lunges, pistol squats,
(Sissy squats are more for athletes than for body builders)
first 2 excerises are rip to the knees
