Tracy chapman is truly a legend. CMA recognizing her after 35 years and expected her to be there physically to take that award?. Naah
Ответитьbeautiful song
Ответить👍💚♥️💚🐸
ОтветитьIt's not racist that a country singer did a better job of singing the song than she did.
ОтветитьWhy did it take this long for the CMA to do this? Hmmm suspicious.
ОтветитьAmazing🎉🎉🎉
ОтветитьShe doesn't need this stuff. She is our legend since the 80s.
ОтветитьThe song always looks fresh when being played. The sound of guitar strings very awesome.
ОтветитьI love this song. I remember it when I was a kid. Great great song. Tracy Chapman did a great job originally and Luke Combs did a great job covering it.
Having said that, how on earth didn't "Wait in the Truck" win? That song is probably one of the best country songs written and performed in the last 50 years. It's literally what country music started as and brought it to the forefront. It brings out so many emotions and it hits home for so many people going through an abusive relationship. The chorus at the end brings chills up and down my spine every single time I hear it. Hardy and Lainey definitely deserved it.
Who says country music is behind the times
Ответитьits time now for mtv to award billy squier video of the year for his rock me tonight video 🤣
ОтветитьThank you Luke Combs for helping reintroduce the world to the legendary Tracy Chapman and her iconic song that to this day still holds up well. Whether you love or hate his music, Luke Combs recognizes that Tracy deserves recognition for her amazing work. I’m so happy she is able to see how beloved she is. I have always loved Fast Car and have great memories of singing it in the car with my dad so this is a very proud moment for those she inspires. ❤
ОтветитьAnd the award was presented by the legend that is Bill “Whisperin’ Bill” Anderson… how cool was that!?
ОтветитьSo NOW give DIANA ROSS her Oscar for Lady Sings the Blues. She deserves it before she leaves this earth because I have NEVER seen someone act soooo damn good where I thought they were really drugged out and it looked so real I couldn't distinguish if it was a movie at the time. please DO THE RIGHT THING IT'S NEVER TOO LATE, if the person is still breathing. Like this is you agree, thx
ОтветитьIts to bad she didnt show up to the awards, kind of a big deal for her song.
ОтветитьIn Living Colour did an excellent parody of her...
ОтветитьReal Artist live 4 ever❤❤
ОтветитьNot sure why it took this long for her to win an award for this brilliant song … but ok.
I’m so so happy for her! Finally!!!! ❤️
Every time I here Fast Car it brings Me back to when my sister and I could get along. When it first came out she turned me on to Tracy Chapman's music. It is hard for me to not get choked up when ever I hear Fast Car.
ОтветитьSo well deserved what a great song love you to death keep it up!!!
ОтветитьWas that Sara Evans? It sounded like her, but she looks different.
ОтветитьLuke turned a cringy, 'nails on a chalk board' vocal rendition into something I can listen to. Congrats on Tracy for the great lyrics though!
ОтветитьAlthough I really like Luke's version - and I'm not a country listener - Tracy should have won this award with her own original vocals years ago. It is her recording that kept this song alive in our hearts and souls for decades.
ОтветитьLove TRACY. This song just hits no matter how your mood. Is and I d I love blasting it in the car.💞💞
ОтветитьThis song reminds me of my dad 🥹 He kept this song on repeat when I was a child. I see myself forever riding in the memories of that Fast Car. Thanks Tracy and Daddy!
ОтветитьExcellent! "Fast Car" is a brilliant song. Is that sweet Sara Evans presenting?
ОтветитьSo happy this song got the renewed attention it deserves! Saw Tracy Chapman perform it back in the late 1980's. Loved it then and still love it today!
ОтветитьI'm sure that if she had any idea she would win this award 35 years after writing one of the most beloved songs in history she would have been there❤
ОтветитьI'm confused it was released 35 years ago and won a Grammy. I guess they have different rules at the CMAs. The Grammys allow you re-record music and submit it to vocal categories but not song of the year.
ОтветитьCongratulations to Tracy Chapman she wrote an amazing song!!
ОтветитьDang. She didn’t show up. Sounds about right.
ОтветитьEVEN LIONEL RITCHIE CAN BRING THAT CATAGORY TO BEING ONE OF THE BEST COUNTRY SINGERS!!!! MATTER OF FACT R & B, BLUES, IS COUNTRY, & COUNTRY IS THESE CATAGORIES. SO MUCH RACISM IN THE FOLKS ALL OVER THE WORLD FOR WHAT.
ОтветитьLISTEN AMERICA!!!! STOP CALLING OUR PEOPLE BLACK WE, ARE BROWN!!! THAT'S A, FACT, GO GET ANYTHING BLACK LETS SEE IF THAT TRUE OR EVEN WHITE NO SUCH THING AS THESE FOLKS. YOU NEVER CALL ANY OTHER COLORS HERE A YELLOW RED BROWN PINK ALWAYS THE SO CALLED NEGROES WHICH ARE NOT AFRICANS!!!! WE, ARE HEBREW PEOPLE WHO ARE MANY SKIN TONES ACCEPT PINK THAT IS YOUR SO CALLED WHITE FOLKS. THEY ARE BIBLICAL CALLED RED ESAU CHILDREN IDUMEA EDOMITES. CAUCASIANS WERE A SPECIES OF THE CAVES DWELLERS KNOWN AS NEANDERTHAL, DENISONAN, TROGLODYTES, BASEMEN. JOB 30:3-8. READ IT.
ОтветитьHow does a song from 35 years ago win song of the year in 2023? Genuinely confused.
Ответить35 years later now she get recognized lol 😅 😭
ОтветитьI really wanted Luke and Tracey to sing it together!! All the stars would've aligned. Congrats Tracy and Luke.
ОтветитьEww she's like a three hit wonder 😂😂 She's no radiohead.
ОтветитьIve always loved this song from the first time I heard it. And I have fond memories driving around while singing it. Well deserved award
Ответить🙏❤Tracy Chapman 🎉
ОтветитьCongratulations to a lady who has a voice that delivers. I am glad her lyrics can still move the hearts of so many people.
ОтветитьOh my gosh, I am so proud of my Mother Tracy Chapman for winning a CMA award for her song, "Fast Car". She's been a hard worker all of her life and it is very honoring to me, that she has won another award after all of these years.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ She's so blessed❤❤❤
ОтветитьI think the Luke's remake of this song sux. I've heard other remakes and they're way better.
ОтветитьI knew I could speak English the day I understood Tracy Chapman's The Promise without translating it into Portuguese, my native language, while chopping onions at Curley's PUB in Taunton, MA where I worked from 2001 to 2005.
ОтветитьI am happy she decided to be “unable” to be at the CMA. I have a guess on how she feels about all of this and still have to say “thank you”. Love you Tracy. ❤
ОтветитьA queer anthem, sung by a white man... the IDPOL runneth deep. Happy for her...we live in strange times.
ОтветитьThe genre of the original is not a country music???
ОтветитьWhy did she win and not Luke Combs? I get it’s her song but he’s the one who remade it and brought it to country? It’s also not a country song. It’s from the 90’s when country was way more twangy.
ОтветитьChapman Music Awards
ОтветитьHow awesome. Black female LGBTQIPA+ songwriter collaborating (postscript) with a cis-white country boy from North Carolina to break this barrier. It may never happen this way again.
Way to go Luke and Tracy.
