How do you prepare for the next train departure on a long haul. I can see on the schedules that there is literally 5 min to get to the next train track but it does not even list the next train tract or the name of the next train you will need to find. Thank you for your help.

Going into my July trip extremely prepared.

Trains in Europe are so unreliable. Travel by car, plane, or if worse some comes to worst, travel by bus. Too many transfers by train. Oftentimes trains are delayed and you miss your transfer. Just rent a car. You'll save time and money, with less frustration.

I am an Army brat who grew up in Europe......loved taking those trains! So much fun!

Hey there! I am planning a 6 week backpacking trip starting the end of May. Plan on hitting at least 10 countries- and at least 2 cities in each. Do you think it would be worth getting the unlimited Eurorail pass? Would it be cheaper do you think than just purchasing as I go? Thanks for input?

Need help! for my trip, I've seen that buying individual tickets will cost to me half of a global pass. But that is if I buy them in advance, but the web page show me that I have 5 to 8 minutes to get off a train, figure out where the next one is, and get on tht next one, I'm really afraid to buy the tickets and then not having enough time to catch each train I booked.

One thing I can't decide on is how to go about booking hostels. How many hostels did you book in advance? If you booked them all the day you arrived, were there any that were fully booked?
