I had never heard of Gavin I am 67 years old and have been drumming since I was seventeen. I have been influenced by several drummers but I think Gavin is fantastic because he plays the drums so well. I have been playing in a cover band for forty years now and have performed drum solo under the influence of Gavin and that was a great success thanks to Gavin!👍👍👍

I have many drummers I love man...even a top 5 list...but Gavin is my favorite drummer to listen to ...sonically beautiful...his drum arrangements and compositions are to my ear very unique ...masterful

He still has the greatest drum tone I have ever heard in all of my years
Although I am still not a fan of sonor I just don’t feel his drums project or have enough warmth and body. That’s just my opinion not saying it’s right.

I’ve never really been able to put a tangible reason why Gavin Harrison is my favourite drummer until very recently… I’ve been listening to loads of drum solos and live performances of late and the penny dropped. If you take away all the visual theatrics (I love Peart by the way ) and just listen to the tempo and timing … Gavin is without equal … there is no tempo swing whatsoever! He is drummings atomic clock! Then add back in his inventiveness, speed, dynamics and feel… and he’s unrivalled.

Playing the drums - basically nothing more than emotional mathematics... but this is so magnificent that it takes my breath away every time. The precision with which the ghost notes are played is unbelievable. The creativity and playful ease with which G.H. plays the drums is out of this world.

Whenever I am in a low point or have no inspiration to play drums or music, I throw Gavin on - always inspires me to keep playing and stick with it. I know I'll never get to that level at my age (51) but I can sure try and get that much better in the process!!!
