Must Have Tools For a Miniature Modelmaker!!!

I'm just starting out in the scale car modeling community. All I can say is WOW! Who knew you needed SO MUCH stuff. One of the biggest things is a spray booth and a place to keep it all. I might have to rent another apartment just to house it!

A comment on "Bits Boxes". I saw a video by Adam Savage, about when he worked for I.L.M. ( Lucasfilm's Industrial Light and Magic). They were kitbashing model kits to build Star Wars ships. He called the bits of models "Greeblies".
I now have plastic tubs full of "Greeblies"!........Or, perhaps they are giant "Bits Boxes"?

How to know if you make miniatures:
You saw his "Random boxes" and got absolutely giddy, jealous, and the desire to shuffle through them and look at every little piece (No, I'm not pocketing them, you're imagining things! I swear, this box was always empty and my pockets were this stuffed when I came in, I swear).

Thank you for your views on kit items. Do you have a recommendation on "tweezers"?? I have purchased several and the steel and spring leave much to be desire. They often tend to be weak and soft. I would like a good strong, firm tweezer. Any advice?? Thanks again for your helpful kit ideas. Ax

Super helpful. Winter is upon us and I am looking to take up a new hobby to pass the time. I thought model making might be a good one since I did it a bit as child, but now that I have an "adult" budget to play with, I may just actually be able to make some cool stuff.

Thrift stores are a great place to look for odds and ends. They often have tons of jewelry, tools, toys, etc that you'd never buy for full price, but for a buck or two? Great source of tiny things. I just picked up a light bright for $1 just for all of the pegs.

You should make a video on the different materials you use to make your models and some brands you suggest!
