How does the A380 handle X265 encoding?

Is there a fidelity difference between NVENC AV1 and SVT AV1? I tried doing my own experiments on SVT AV1 vs NVENC HEVC, and the latter maintained higher levels of detail, so I wanted to know if they were the same.

For recording in 1440p60 with AV1, I set my CQP level to 14. I read that's mostly lossless and no point to go lower. Do you agree?

i can't get quicksync to work in OBS. the error message always shows that it is unavailable. do I have to plug a monitor into the card or something? I have the Intel ARC drivers installed. I have an nvidia 3000 card as my main and secondary monitors.

av1 doesnt qwork with me hdr diasbled time outs no support by nvidia.... just cant stream with av1. everytime there is an issue with this coded.

4mb is totally enought for 1080p60 with hevc

AV1 is totally useless if you need to have the latest expensive gpu just to use it

@EposVox Thanks for the great content! Is there a performance difference in AV1 encoding when comparing the RTX 4000 series cards vs the new Intel cards? Can I buy just a vanilla 4070 or would an extra spend on a 4080 be with it? This is for a dedicated streaming box.

I don't get it... You say to stream at 1440p or 4k - but the A770 isn't really going to be great at gaming at those resolutions... so, what am I missing? Are you able to render the games at 1080p to get max FPS, and then stream at 1440p or 4k for better overall stream image quality?

Because if that's the case, then i'm fucking sold on the A770 lol. Someone please explain?

is there a potential quality difference for uploading with nvenc hevc with the new 29.1 beta 4 update? I have a GTX 1660 and I've been waiting for the next big step in quality for an upgrade path. Turing's NVENC was a step up from previous generations, is NVIDIA's AV1 on the 40xx series also an NVENC implementation? The a770 16gb is a tempting upgrade path as there's been several major performance improvements with driver revisions and my b450 and 5800x3d support re-bar so I shouldn't have any performance issues with it. I'm probably going to mess around with hevc nvenc in the meantime.

I'm using a Merc XFX merc 319 6800xt and a 3900x. In slobs it says i can use av1 but this is all new to me. I just started streaming and need some help with other settings. Also there is SVT-AV1 and AOM AV! what is the difference?

In order to take advantage of AV1, doesn't both the streamer and the viewer need AV1 support? (encoding for the streamer and decoding for the viewer). As someone with a GTX 1070, I don't have support for AV1 so I can't watch an AV1 stream unless it's possible to chose between AV1 and VP9 or h.264 in the stream options as a viewer. I have to buy a newer generation graphics card in order to enjoy AV1 :⁠^⁠)

Can I run the Intel Arc card as a 2nd GPU and use that for streaming and keep my RTX3080 as my local use card?
