Taikuu, I have a neighbor has a f-150 and we can't find the leak, we will sure take a look at the oil, tho there is never an over full on the stick, quite the opposite, have to add oil freq.

What is the solution to this problem? Will this be Miss diagnosed as a blown motor?

Great video. I am having same issue with my wife’s 2013 Buick enclave, she came back from work the other day, fan continued to run after the car was turned off. Check the coolant and it was bone dry. Car is having overheating issues now as well. Of course this happened at 4 pm on a Friday 🤯

noticed i was losing coolant after my timing belt was replaced, no leaks.. ive read that it's just the coolant settling in the system. should I be worried? thxx

I would add one more test to the oil dipstick, a smell test, if oil smells sweet...problem...

Thx for the video....

I knew about the milky oil item, so that's what I of course checked as my car seems to loose coolant without visible leaks. Yet that isn't the issue, the oil is black. Still a mystery what causes the coolant loss....

Every 700 miles, the coolant in my 2015 Fusion Hybrid drops from MAX to MIN. I add coolant. The dealership pressure-tested it, saying it is holding pressure. No leaks underneath. The oil looks fine. I am baffled. What is the problem, or perhaps when cars age some coolant loss is normal? 49000 miles.

Do you think those "stop leak" coolant additives could plug up a coolant leak into the crankcase?

It went out your exhaust pipe because your head gasket is blown.

A really great test is to take a few drops of oil and put it on a piece of aluminum foil then put a lighter under the foil to heat it. If there is coolant in the oil it will make an unmistakable sizzle. Pure oil will just smoke but not sizzle.
It’s also an easy way I will test a used car during an Inspection for a potential head gasket leak. After test driving the car and getting the exhaust manifold hot, drip a little from the dipstick onto the exhaust manifold to see if it sizzles.

How weird. I'm literally coming to my computer to look up a part for the cooling system leak with no visual signs. 2014 s550 coolant leak that is a very slow leak into the washer reservoir through the washer reservoir heater.

Hey Mike. I thought for sure you were going after an intake manifold internal leak. Never thought of the internal water pump. I thought engineers were supposed to be smart. :( lol. Thanks again for the tip Mike.

When you have a slow coolant leak as you describe what would you expect your oil pressure to be at higher or lower than normal. That could also help you diagnose this issue. Thanks for the great tip.

Today's engineering just boggles my mind sometimes. New ways to introduce coolant where it shouldn't go! 🤣 The stuff I see regularly is normally much older than this, so good to know what's in store for me in the coming years. Thanks for the heads-up, Mike! 👍

I’ve got disappearing coolant on my 04 Nissan Titan and see weep marks on the plastic end caps bonded to the ends of the metal middle portion of the radiator. Oil is clean, so time for a new radiator.

Not as milky as i'm use to seeing with head gasket, cracked head leaks. Is it just not leaking enough or is there another reason for lack of a more white milky oil ?

More than likely put inside the engine for packaging the engine in tight engine compartments of different platforms. Should really have designed an external, electrically driven, water pump like the euros use, AKA: Break My Wallet.

My old 06 Nissan Frontier 4.0L hasn't had that problem, but then I replaced the water pump when I replaced the chains, tensioners and guides. Well, just another item to be replaced when doing the above work. Otherwise, it's the second time in teardown the pump will get replaced.

Engine oil analysis works great. You can also heat up a pan to 250 f and drip a few drops of oil onto pan. You can then watch water boil out of oil if present.

Pure crap that the automotive engineers are designing engines these days where a water pump is installed inside engine design - but we all know they want you to bring your vehicle back for repair instead of you doing the repair yourself 🤨
