why would you even make this video if you had no real information. this was 10 minutes of nothing lol
ОтветитьI'm seeing lots of nationalistic mud-slinging in the Comments from residents of cities with 'sightseeing wheels' of their own which are also not operational. London seems to be especially disliked, although its modest Eye is working as normal. Maybe it's an ex-colonial thing.🤔
Teething troubles are to be expected on all such engineering projects - stiff door handles, steamy windows when it rains, squeaky rubber sealing strips, uncomfortable seat-cushions, whatever - but the only really, REALLY significant thing is this: aside from regular annual maintenance time (which is announced well in advance and so doesn't disappoint visitors), can you book a ride on your city's wheel. Now. Today.
Can you?
If the answer's 'no', your wheel is little better than this vulgar, overblown, ego-driven project. As the operators haven't revealed the exact nature of its difficulties, it seems unlikely that it's just a problem with pesky flies or noisy air-conditioning. More likely it's something fundamental involving contracts and lawyers.
Maybe the initial design was flawed and they haven't worked out who to blame yet.
One thing's certain: Dubai's insanely ambitious leaders have unlimited funds to spend on restoring national pride and an infinite capacity for revenge.
They won't recover from the 'reclaimed land' fiasco (those sinking residential sand islands) for decades, and this wheel is an even more iconic focus for criticism.
I don't suppose the guy (or gal) who specified plain bearings for a desert-based project will be getting much sleep.
It faces the same issue that all Dubai’s mega structures face. SHIT. It’s a 45mins ride and once you get on it.. there is no place to shit if you have to 😂
ОтветитьDubai is the biggest port of call for our MILITARY. Every month Dubai hosts a MILITARY or government conference. How is it the military can afford to leisure in Dubai at that expense to American taxpayers?
ОтветитьThe same thing happened with London Eye it was opened then closed then opened later
Ответитьthe location seems kinda rubbish. It looks amazing but what are the views? Ocean? City in the distance? Does being that high mean anything past a certain point? The London eye is the perfect size and location for a ferris wheel to provide incredible views of the city.
ОтветитьLas Vegans are gonna enjoy this
ОтветитьI thought Ain was 'eye in' being mispronounced. 🤦
ОтветитьWhy would you want to observe a fake city made by women hating oil sultans in the middle of the desert?
ОтветитьShock horror another Dubai vanity project breaks down. This is what happens when you think throwing money at something makes it work.
ОтветитьI'm not religious person, but do you guys also think "Babylon" when seeking "Dubai" ??
ОтветитьIt just needs some WD40 squirted into the bearings 😅🤣
ОтветитьIs the concept of saving face part of the cultural context?
ОтветитьIs it uncomfortable 250 meters off the ground due to wind or heat?
ОтветитьI'm not interested in entering any structure that is run by people who are unable to use the word 'repair' - especially if they think that using the word 'enhancement' in its place is sure to instill confidence in real human beings.
ОтветитьSad to say this, but I find Dubai tacky.
ОтветитьNah come to duabi it is packed there
ОтветитьLet me cut through the bullshit. The engineering was not great and the motion pushed it further into the reclaimed ground than expected. The eye will be moved further up the coast of Jumeirah.
ОтветитьWe where lucky to enjoy it ❤
ОтветитьLooks good lit up at night.
ОтветитьNothing ever is transparent in the UAE.
ОтветитьNote to the non=-English: That "sampuw" is this poor guy's attempt at "sample."
"We-you" is his idea for "wheel."
words going around here in dubai says its tilting
ОтветитьLondon eye laughing in the corner
ОтветитьEnhancement Works = "Making it rotate". The beauty of The London Eye is that you get to see London. From the Eiffel Tower you get to see Paris.
From the Ain Dubai you get to see Sand, Sea and some hotels (well you would if it worked).
They have more money than brains like China
ОтветитьMakes you realise how remarkable the London eye is, built over 20 years ago, in a tricky location and still spinning daily.
ОтветитьIt’s actually the chief engineer. He left the place and no one else knows how to properly operate it. Ive seen the thing and its fuckin massive. But the area around it is also nice.
ОтветитьI managed to ride it before it was closed
ОтветитьPointless, informationless click bait video.
ОтветитьIs this gorilla marketing
ОтветитьLet's not forget there is an eternal battle between architecture and engineering. As with Highrise buildings, it's exponentially more difficult the higher you built. This same may have been ignored in this case.
ОтветитьTrying to get a response from TUV sued is like responding to the Nubian prince, asking for your paycheck. It's shocking that a seemingly worldwide renowned entity is seemingly in such a disarray.
ОтветитьDubai Is just like puffer fish aesthetic outside empty inside. 😢
ОтветитьDubai, one of the biggest jokes of the modern world.
It's just full of Sh!t, no surprise that this project has turned out to be a failure. All of Dubai is a huge failure.
They love wasting money on things we don't need.
ОтветитьBeing somewhat rich, buying an overpriced house on a fake island..... with a observatory wheel filled with foreigners spying in your house. Now imagine the shade it creates.
ОтветитьIt's really pretty when it lights up though, lol
ОтветитьIts just a show piece now
ОтветитьPride comes before a fall.
These complexity of these ‘monster’ projects always seem to be underestimated.
Those in charge have far toomuch hubris, perhaps they should learn a little bit of humility eh?
In Australia the same issue happened and they had to scrap the entire thing and rebuild.
ОтветитьWow, I moved here in 2022, and didn't realize it was new. But I did notice it was not moving ever...
ОтветитьWow , I left Dubai back in 2018 when this was still getting built , and now almost 6 years later , it’s still not complete?? 😂 The Sheikhs must be running out of cash it seems.
ОтветитьSoil settlement is the reason.
ОтветитьIf you know anything about Meraas then you know what the issue is
ОтветитьSee honestly speaking the theory that its sinking could be partially true considering that all of the reclaimed land on which these mega structures are sitting on reportedly sinking. and that includes the palm, the world islands etc. Bluewaters however being a newer project and with newer infrastructure shouldnt face this issue but it would be safe to not cross out anything.
ОтветитьUseless video. Why not go there and get some facts.
ОтветитьIt is sknking, that's why it stoped.
ОтветитьYou didn't exactly give any new information or answer to the question. I learned nothing new. We know its stopped. and everything else is just speculation.
Ответить
