Galactica can endure a long punishment against 4 basestar, but not Pegasus.
ОтветитьGod definitly sent that last piece for the double kill
ОтветитьPegasus easily destroyed one basestar and with galactica, they could've taken out the other two. Pegasus' sacrifice seemed unnessacary to me for reasons other than plot.
ОтветитьWhat are the songs on the soundtrack, does anyone else know? they are very good
ОтветитьI love Galactica as much as the rest of us but letting this already old beat up ship get more beat up just so you can THEN THROW a larger and newer ship away HURTS MY SOUL
Ответитьfine...I rewatch Buffy the vampire slayer
ОтветитьI absolutely love this show and watch it through a few times a year on blurays but what I'd give to see an Asgard upgraded 304 from Stargate jump in and just rip all of these ships to shreds without breaking a sweat!😂❤
ОтветитьHe could have just spun Pegasus around them with the fore section's cannons blasting at them, destroying them all. I never understood this "sacrifice".
ОтветитьPart of me thinks Lee deliberately destroyed the Pegasus so he didn’t have to be in command anymore. There was no need in this battle it had to be lost. He could have wasted 2 at least with the bow guns charging in, then broadsided the last one to death
ОтветитьPegasus 3 : Cylons 1
ОтветитьGalactica is holding off 4 baseships, Pegasus destroys 1, and then proceeds to fold like a lawn chair
ОтветитьThey did not need to sacrifice the Pegasus. After every other ship jumped, the Pegasus could have done the same. She was not damaged to the point she could not jump. It was a flawed story point, it's BSG so they had to get rid of the other BS, and they did it in such a weak way. In fact, she was only destroyed when she rammed the Cylon ship at full speed and all her guns still firing.
ОтветитьFirst time i watched this scene, i was full chub. Now, I'm watching in 2023, I'm still full chub. It never went away.
ОтветитьAs much as people dislike it, Pegasus was always going to be destroyed, not to echo the original series where she did the same but due to the simple fact that the production crew only had access to the soundstage that was used for her for 6 months since it was leased for virtually nothing after Fox's Lost in Space revival didn't get picked up.
ОтветитьHOW WAS LEE NOT SHOT AFTER THIS? The utter waste of a powerful ship, something that would have made their lives EASIER and better off.
ОтветитьAn Adama destroys a magnificent Battlestar in a stupid kamikaze move. The other Adama sends the entire colonial fleet flying into the sun.🙃
Ответитьhow the hell you lose with the element of suprise and the foward fire power of the pegasus. he had a straight run on 3 base stars, which should've been pulverized and he shoulda used nukes! wate of an excellent ship!
ОтветитьYes Pegasus was a more powerful ship than Galactica but it only had half the crew because everything was automated. If the goal is to keep as many humans alive as possible then Pegasus was the ship that had to be sacrificed. Pegasus could abandon ship and still leave it somewhat functional. Galactica could not. Plus they wouldn't have had time to abandon twice as many people.
ОтветитьLee Adama's greatest act of incompetence in the whole series. He should have spent the rest of BSG in the brig.
ОтветитьGalactica had to survive.
ОтветитьIt really is all about the two civilian fleets. The Pegusus was protecting the space side fleet and Galastica was protecting the fleet ships departing New Caprica.
ОтветитьI know the show is called Battlestar Galactica, and this makes a compelling story. But sacrificing the Pegasus was a tactically retarded decision. If it's first volley took out one of 4, it makes the other 3 unable to flank both ships. Sending it "up the gut" only destroys the Pegasus and does nothing to save the Galactica. The tactically sound move would have been to hard turn the Galactica out of the kill zone and have Pegasus block her weak side while the Galactica repaired. Both jumping out together after recovering the fighters. together.
ОтветитьI truly believe that this would have been an ending for the Pegasus which would have greatly satisfied Admiral Cain.
ОтветитьI remember watching this scene for the first time and everyone in the household was screaming for the Pegasus when it arrived.
ОтветитьProbably the best 5 minutes of Sci-Fi action since the Battle of Hoth back in 1980.
ОтветитьWhy couldn't Pegasus jump out as soon as the Galactica did?
ОтветитьThis is the BSG version of the Klingons coming down the Y-Axis in the retaking of DS9
ОтветитьThat Battlestar made one hell of a Final Curtain
ОтветитьYeah, let's ram the Pegasus into a Base Star instead of continuing to fire upon them.
Ответитьthe show was all downhill after the new caprica arc ended. everything after the "final five" nonsense was a trainwreck and the ending was retarded
ОтветитьI remember watching the original series as a kid and seeing the pegasus do it's thing.. man it made my day
ОтветитьHonestly it kinda doesn't make sense pegasus is destroyed here. Galactica sat there getting pounded for several minutes and was able to juml away. Pegasus also is shown to blow up one of the 4 basestars immediately when it enters the fight. Galactica presumably caused some damage to all 4 basestars since it was surrounded and has guns pointing at all 4 of the basestars. Pegasus was also tougher and in much better shape than galactica. Its a story thing but honestly pegasus should have been able to solo the 3 remaining with long range fire. Lee was just an idiot and called evac and ramming speed instead of fighting lol
ОтветитьIt was so stupid for them to sacrifice the Pegasus, she was capable of building more Vipers, she had a factory on board.
Ответитьi think this was the first time we saw legit movie effects in a tv show
ОтветитьSuch a bad fat suit.
ОтветитьIt sure looks like Pegasus took out 3 of the 4 Cylon base ships... did I count that right?
ОтветитьWhat’s your dream? 🇺🇸🏳️🌈🇵🇷✨🤖🙏🌱❤️💕👾🧼🥳🎉💐🌃🎭🎢🎃
ОтветитьAppart from the way the pegasus was destroyed the other thing that was wrong was: "The captain always goes down with the ship"
ОтветитьAt least in this version of bsg Peggy goes at with a big bad fight can't stand the old one
ОтветитьI am with @Spacedock on this one: Lee Adama should have been court-martialed for throwing away the last Mercury-Class Battlestar like this.
ОтветитьI love this tv series, THIS is "REAL" Battlestar Galactica !!!
ОтветитьI love the sound the cylon raiders make.
But there’s no sound in space lol.
Pegasus could have jumped out when Galactica did. But then they had to get rid of Pegasus somehow.
ОтветитьThe musical score on this show was so perfect.
ОтветитьI was the same when I said goodbye to my "Big Blue Beast" --a 1985 Crown Victoria. I bought it used and drove it from 1994 to 1999. I drove her from Atlanta to Augusta a dozen times, and finally to Statesboro, SC. After 5 years, breaks were past gone. Engine was still good, but everything else was way past it's due date. I took it to a salvage yard and sold it for $500 for the engine. I thanked her (she lasted longer than my last girlfriend) said goodbye, and walked away.
ОтветитьWow, one of the best space battles scenes ever done in TV. Not since Babylon 5 or maybe DS9 the war seasons did we get such gritty scenes,
Ответить3 out of 4 ain’t bad.
ОтветитьPegasus jumps in, takes out a Basestar, and THEN says “fire up that main battery.” Why? Why did we lose Pegasus?
ОтветитьThe scene just makes me mad, makes me root for the cylons. Losing Pegasus should not have happened. Yes I know what the show is called, and yes I prefer the Original, there's more hope in that show then this show. The first salvo destroys that BaseStar how hard would it have been I don't know turn the nose and shoot the second one with the same amount of firepower and by the time you got to the third one the Cylon could be retreating. Hell who knows maybe even Galactica could have turned around and opened up her batteries too.
