WC3 - [UD] Happy vs Lyn [ORC] - LB Final - Ancient of Wonders Cup 2024 #3

Buff BM + 2 AGI, revert War Stomp nerf on Heroes. Matchup fixed. Blade was the best weapon against UD and it was nerfed too much. Orc relies on Heroes as their late game armies are just worse than other races.

Unfortunately Orcs late game is so weak. They should buff shamans/walkers to be counter against destro. Maybe they should nerft destro attack range to be reached by HH, dunno.

Normally you just have to not make a massive game loding mistake and its a free win against orc - but as we saw in the last game, und can easily walk into the worse position on the map for his army, throw away his first hero for no reason at the beginning of the fight, and still EASILY win, so yeah...as remo and neo said, yeah it doesnt really make sense.

Don't need to watch game 4. Lyn lost mentally since game 1. Game 2 was a fluke of godlike items on blade and tc. Not playing with any confidence it seems with late game decision making

How about 2 Tauren and 2 walkers for res and disenchant, 1 kodo, and rest berserkers

In game 1 remo I prefer Lyn's army in the last fight.......80 food vs 80 food fight.

Happy ended that fight in high upkeep.....

The Orc Vs Undead matchup is painful and atrocious to watch at this point. Lyn loses even to Labyrynth, so what hope is there against Happy?
In game 3, Lyn has a larger food army, more upgrades and had an expasion running for a long time, while Happy's expansion had just gone up. Lyn's army just get vaporized. Head hunters are just good for dying. Taurens are trash as usual, and you can't even get spirit link because you just feed destroyers,
In game 4,. Happy does one of the clumsiest attacks on Lyn's expo, and even loses his DK and almost his entire army. So he just goes to tavern as usual and rebuys his DK. Who cares if hero re-bought at tavern has no mana since you have statues for free mana regen:?
Undead DPS and especially sustain is just flat out better than Orc's. Head hunters just melt, and even ghouls have better survivability because they are faster by design and due to Unholy Aura. Taurens are slow AF and just die to focused fire. Orc can't kill anything. The synergy between rods of necromancy and Dark Arrow is abusive .. Not only are ghouls still way too strong for sheer DPS(especially since they were re-buffed), that + Nova + DA makes head hunters 100% unviable. Not only can UD kills the Orc's army 2 x faster, but on top that Undead gets endless skeletons due to abusive synergy of Undead with Dark Ranger. In fact, UD doesn't even need DR, since Crypt Lord impale + Nova is just as good, and allows UD to expand even faster still.
what this series showed is that Orc can only win either with the weak mass wyvern build, which falls off completely after 8 minutes, or when the Orc plays a Blademaster map(there are only a few of those) AND is lucky enough to get insane items like claws +12, Boots of Quel'thalas, Orb of Darkness, etc. The reason why BM is barely viable anymore is because it received a massive nerf of -2 Agility + 2 second cooldown to wind walk back in 2018. It's crazy that Undead can even expand faster than both Orc and Elf, and almost as fast as Human. Crazy.
I am going on a long hiatus of watching pro WC3. The matchup of Orc and Elf Vs Undead is simply not fair for Orc and Elf. It really isn't fair. If you want to make the case that Labyrynth is a better player than Lyn, then go ahead but I'm not buying it. The only interesting matchup in pro WC3 is Human Vs Undead.

Love to see the shifts and experimentation this matchup is going through.

Las malas decisiones de Lyn lo llevan a la derrota, ejemplo en la segunda partida ya la tenia en la bolsa al ganar la pelea, pero corre a su base, retira a su tropa y deja atrás a sus unidades que son cazadas por Happy dándole así más experiencia. Happy en cambio no deja de atacar, siempre va para delante y sólo se repliega un poco, pero no pierde tiempo y sigue tomando campamentos...

UD army feels more sleek, mobile and durable.

I suspect Orc has more raw DPS, but HH attacks are largely wasted on skeletons and frost armored heroes.

Far Seer doesn’t add much value tbh. It would be interesting to see TC first. DK would probably be level 2 by the time TC starts creeping but TC eventually out-scales DK at T3.

Nice games! I like Taurens, but I feel like, there is nothing Lyn had against aboms and DR. His mass HH gives the DR so many skelettons, without more Tauren or Kodo, there is nothing against the aboms, and maybe bats + wyvern really would be the right call, because he had the tech and time, and Happy already had 3 heroes.

Switching into wyvern as soon as he sees Happy's abom switch, stopping building berserkers, might have been the better strategy. Then, bats, especially should gargs come.

He had time for witch doctor tech, getting a bunch of wyvern and bats would have been even faster.

So cool games, I hope to see more Tauren, and I hope, Lyn finds a solution against aboms. Maybe lategame wyvern after UD went DR or Lich 3rd. And I would like to see more BM from orc, at least on some maps, and maybe even orc buying some items for BM, especially early game, slippers, because it's a cool hero 👍

UD is always OP as hell. Happy ain't shit without the OP race.

Very cool 1st game. Finally Tauren vs Ghouls and Skelettons. Later Happy had aboms instead of ghouls, so Tauren didn't work anymore. Aren't they, in theory, weak against magic dmg, like walker and shaman plus purge? They also could revive Tauren. But it's very hard vs destros...

Also ofc bats + Wyvern, but a whole switch to air is far more difficult than building abos instead of ghouls. Imo also a 2nd orb would have been nice, because SHs attack speed was ok with the boots. Or maybe 3 more Kodos, 6 less berserkers. Ofc it's easy to come up with random ideas, hard to do any of that, but I hope, we see Tauren more often, and this time successful.

Blade in game 2 now. I like Blade. Maybe he would work with Tauren, Kodo and Berserkers or Wyvern and bets, because he is better in dealing with abos and destroyers, and units in general, should he get orb + krit lvl 2 or even higher levels 🤷‍♂️

Edit: very nice game 2 with Blade, headhunters, some raiders for control and the spirit walker. Good items, and nice, how Lyn destroyed the statues and destros 🥰

watched this live and the last game was LOR lore accurate !! 100 food/8 Aboms army is legendary And lyn trying to counter that army with mass Head hunters was cute . Like trying to stop a Sunami with a shovel !
